Chapter 21 - 21: Hex Causa Sui

How Dare thine eye offend me

Serpentine slanted pupil

And leathery wings unfurled.

Maw of a thousand teeth and flame

Horned head of majesty.

***

I shall pluck it out.

***

Vile Creature!

***

You Dare tower over me?

I Am your inventor.

***

You are only a figment

A filigree falsehood

Created to amuse my fellows.

A colossal nothing

Loser I designed.

***

My enemy and my fool

I curse you as a Nightmare story.

You shall lose your wings and tail

Your four great legs and claws

And all of your majesty.

***

You shall be a facade

Which only children will fear.

You'll dance and sing and die

On the poet's pages

And the writer's stories.

***

Oh, you treacherous Dragon

Thy mere existence offends me

***

And so, I shall pluck it out.
