Chapter 34 - Mistake

Loraine Eleanor POV :

I walked with slightly restrained steps so as not to have an excessive mana effect that would cause my position to be known by other people.

"We'll finish it tonight." His voice was loud, leading and planning something, and I thought I knew that voice.

Tiffanie, who was behind me, immediately lowered her footsteps and even managed her mana expenditure well.

In front of me, there was a large wooden box stacked up; I immediately went behind the wooden box slowly and stepped carefully.

This wood divides us, behind this wood I can see from a distance of only a few meters that there is a gathering taking place there.

They wore brownish black hoods to cover their heads and wore Aetheris academic uniforms for their clothes, I think these are the people who disappeared.

They were lined up in neat rows that I don't think humans could do, the rows were neatly arranged like a docile robot.

And to my great surprise, I saw that fool standing there as the leader. With an appearance that looked like someone had been hit.

"That's Rucas?" Tiffanie muttered, she lowered her head slightly and locked her legs so as not to move and step on anything that could make a sound.

There were around fifty to seventy students gathered together with some distance between them, but they could only stare at Rucas, who was explaining, with no chatter, no other movements, just straight and silent.

"The eastern region saw a mysterious gathering," I informed the others; while waiting for an answer, I tried to find other information and looked for a place closer to Rucas so I could hear his voice, which was getting smaller.

There was no other information as I waited for them to report, so I'm going to take some rash action here; I moved slowly and pushed my feet with the wind to fly up to the roof of a building because it was a little strong I had to use the wind cushion to land with small voice.

This building was so dark that I could hide among the shadows so as not to be discovered.

Tiffanie will also move because this position is very close to the north, Tiffanie moves in the opposite direction stealthily so she can control the patrol from the north.

I approached them with this high closed bar so I could hide behind the writing bar. We were close and I could clearly hear what he was saying.

"Okay! Today I want you to look for someone like this." He said as he took something from a rather large cloth bag then pulled it out and showed it like a trophy.

I couldn't see the photo clearly because it looked blurry, and the photo was of a child, and there were no children here. Black hair with dark brown eyes yet it looks like Wein?

If true, why was he looking for it? Rucas, who was wearing a robe with a hood that he didn't use to hide his identity, put the paper back and rolled it up.

I'm a little confused because he did this at 21.37 and this is a fairly quiet schedule to do this.

"Start the search now!" He said as if he knew that Wein was wandering around the Aetheris academy and didn't think that Wein was in his room.

How could they know that there was a patrol? Or did they know that Wein was not in his room? And why I also thought that it was Wein.

But I refuse to say to myself that it's not Wein.

The neat line slowly and very neatly began to leave the line and look for their target, they jumped and ran away from this position to look for Wein.

I didn't move because I was curious about Rucas, he was carrying a lot of things in a rather large cloth bag.

What is he doing? I always ask because he always makes trouble but it's always covered up if there's Lordmurt's name in it.

"Loraine! Someone headed north." Tiffanie's voice came out of my device's output, I think some of the people led by Rucas have started to scatter.

I hesitate to reply because I'm not sure it's a safe distance to talk since I'm right above Rucas and it's hard to move around here without another sound.

"Um? Am I being stalked?" Rucas shouted as if he knew where I was.

After hearing that, I reflexively hid myself from anywhere, he could be right even though I didn't use my mana for this.

Wein Grimveil POV :

I ran fast but didn't use mana; I ran completely using my physical body; I ran towards the north but approached the east a little.

I ran fast in the dark night until I felt something was stalking me; I felt a shadow on the building next to me, and I ran between the buildings to my right and left.

It didn't stop there; I saw something that made me a little curious, I turned to the right and glanced at someone who was standing on top of a building.

His face was covered by a veil which cast a shadow on his face so I couldn't recognize who it was. I still continued my run but time seemed to slow down when I looked at him

Unexpectedly, he shot towards me who was running like a rocket flying straight down. He shot quickly, making his face slightly visible because of the wind as he shot.

I immediately dodged as fast as I could, moved myself to the side, and stopped running so I could balance my body.

"Northbound Wein was intercepted in the center!" I sent the info in a flat tone because I was focused on the person in front of me.

He landed on his feet and hands, causing dust to scatter due to his rapid collision with the floor tiles.

I didn't try to get to know him and slowed down asking him until he was standing again in the shadow of the sand dust which was starting to slowly disappear.

Half of his face was visible, and half was in shadow because of his veil, which covered the light of the crescent moon, which was quite bright tonight even though only a few sides were exposed to the sun's reflection.

He quickly lunged towards me, with his right hand in front as if he wanted to grab something in his palm.

I dodged the attack, moved my left leg, and put all my weight on my right leg, I kicked the man's leg who was running towards me as I avoided his attack.

He fell, I immediately took a few steps back from him, and at this time, the wind was really friendly with me, a strong wind from the north blew his veil, il covering his head and making his hair scattered clearly from the moonlight.

"Current condition and location." The sound made me a little surprised because I was still focused on something that intercepted me.

"The central region is close to the northern border, conditions are safe," I answered then while waiting for him to show the face I had been waiting for a long time.

"Unlucky!" He cursed pulling his hood back to cover his head from me, his voice a sound I had never known until now.

I looked around until I found a device that looked familiar, a video recording device being watched by Academy Head Claudia (CCTV)

I was a little relieved to step back and try to escape from this pursuit, I quickly pushed my body with enough mana so that it was far enough for him to catch up.

I looked back but he was still lying there looking at me from behind his hood that covered his face in shadow.

"Narisa is heading for the border!" Then Narisa gave information that she was coming towards me.

When he pressed the button, I heard the sound of wind coming into the sound, meaning he was running towards me now.

However, running away from this chase made me relieved even though I knew for sure that later he would chase me because I just ran straight at an unusual speed.
