Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Dispersed The Crowd

"What's the current status?"

Sending Luna on her way, Leo went on to start getting ready for the appointment he had in the next hour, and while he was doing that, he was still worried that Luna would not be able to make it out of Doran safely.

"They were on her tail the moment she entered but she managed to lose them." Riss disclosed. "She just left Doran and is currently heading for the forsaken region."

"The forsaken region." Leo muttered as he slowly buttoned his suit. "If I'm not mistaken, the Flarions have very little presence there, making it easy for someone to do as he pleases."

"You mean the governor of the forsaken region?"

"Yes." He nodded. "The good thing is that the border between Doran and Evon is situated right there. Keep me updated if anything comes up or until she enters Evon at least."

With that said, he made his way to the cupboard beside the bed and pulled the third cabinet open to reveal a collection of neatly folded ties.

"Do you really have to do this?" Riss asked after letting out a subtle sigh.

"Huh?" Leo responded as he turned to him.

"Given how powerful she is, I don't think she needs you to keep an eye on her like this. I think we would be better off focusing on our business and ignoring her."

"Riss." Leo sighed.

"I'm just telling you what I think." Riss retorted. "You always tell me to speak my mind as your friend whenever I feel like you're doing something wrong, I'm doing that now."

"I know, but I don't feel like I'm making a mistake this time. Contrary to that, a mistake I made years ago is what I'm trying to fix."

"So, you're going to keep getting involved with her?" Riss asked.

Leo's response to that was a subtle nod.

"Fine, suit yourself then, just don't say I didn't warn you."

"I wouldn't blame you even if you didn't," Leo uttered as he picked a black tie from his collection. "Come help me with this tie."

There was no response from Riss who made his way to the door and slammed it shut just after exiting the room.

"Maybe I should have brought Camilla along." Leo sighed. "Uhhh…but something tells me she would have a worse reaction than what I just witnessed."

He stared at the tie he was holding for a while before slowly putting it around his neck.

"I guess it's about time to learn how to do this myself." He muttered. "Or maybe I should just ditch it."

________ ________

The Nexarion duo were among the most well-known people in the world, but unlike Luna, who was known for wandering around, dealing with certain problems and making trouble sometimes, Leo was known for a different reason.

That was his presence in cyberspace and the business sector.

CyberSentry was a company he started at a very young age, and his efforts ended up paying off big time as the company was currently valued at three hundred billion dollars, making it the highest-valued cyber security company in the world.

They were well-trusted all over the world as they had long-term contracts with big corporations and companies.

Leo was currently in Doran to add one more name to his list.

A fairly new shopping company that had gotten big recently was seeking their services, and since they were making such a good offer, Leo and his board had no intention of saying no.

The meeting to finalize the contract was being held at the shopping company's headquarters in Doran where Leo had just arrived.

As always, he was being accompanied by Riss as they greeted the board of directors.

There was no problem from either side in finalizing the contract, and with that done, an eager Leo was ready to leave.

Unfortunately, he was stopped at the door by a middle-aged man who happened to be the chairman of the clothing company.

"Mr. Leo." The man called with a smile.

Leo's response to that was a forced smile as he reluctantly retracted his hand.

"With your help now, we won't have to worry about hacks or any problem with our website."

"Mhm." Leo nodded.

His mind obviously seemed to be elsewhere.

"You know I was just about to go have lunch so why don't you join me for lunch, my treat?" The chairman requested with a smile.

'Why does he want to have lunch with me now?' Leo sighed inwardly.

He was about to come up with an answer to avoid the lunch invite when the chairman's phone vibrated in his pocket.

The man quickly reached for his phone but while he was pulling it out of his pocket, it ended up slipping off his hands.

Leo reacted quickly, catching the phone just before it could hit the ground.

"Oh, thank you, Mr. Leo." The chairman breathed a sigh of relief.

"You're welcome."

Leo was about to return the phone to him when he flipped it around to see the image of a familiar-looking red orb.

"Thank you." The chairman said once again as he took the phone from him.

A bit perplexed, Leo slowly pulled his hand back before sliding it into his pocket.

"Where's that picture from?" He asked.

"Oh, you mean this?" The chairman responded, turning his screen to him for him to get a proper look at the orb.

"Yes." Leo nodded.

"That's something my friend sent me, he said something about exchanging it for a lot of money."

"A lot of money?" Leo muttered, a puzzled expression on his face. "Might I ask who this friend of yours is?"

"You should know him; I mean, everyone knows who Norman Dune is." The chairman chuckled.

"Norman Dune, the governor of the forsaken region?"

"Yes, that's one."

"No." Leo gasped.

_________ __________

The forsaken region, though a part of the first continent, wasn't as loved and favoured as the other parts of the continent, but despite that, it still had enough in terms of resources and technology for almost half of its population to lead semi-decent lives.

At the heart of the region was the forsaken city, and although the city was known as the most luxurious city in the region, it was also the unhealthiest to live in due to the highly polluted air stemming from the numerous power plant factories surrounding the city.

However, the people exiled there were used to the hardship that came with living there and just wanted to go about their lives as other normal people would.

Just like every other evening, the main street of the city was bustling with people going about their businesses, and among those people was Luna, who was using the crowd as a shield to prevent anyone who might be on the lookout from spotting her.

That was working for her so far, or so she thought until the people around her began to clear out like the parting of the Red Sea.

'What the heck?'

It didn't take her long to discover the men dressed all in black who happened to be armed, they were the ones forcing the people far away from her, making it quite easy to spot her now.

With no idea of what to do she sunk her teeth into her lower lip and clenched her fists.

Suddenly, she heard the sound of a gunshot up ahead. However, she happened to be the target.

She didn't exactly react to that as the bullet ended up hitting the force field created by her spirit force before crashing to the ground.

Soon after that, the shooter emerged from the crowd of terrified people.

A blonde haired guy in a long black coat, he had a smile of satisfaction on his face as he spun his pistol around his finger while moving toward her.

"I wasn't really sure, but it really is you."
