Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Bringer Of Doom

Despite being a city filled with exiles, the Forsaken city wasn't exactly known to be a chaotic city.

Well, that was until a certain trouble magnet walked into the city. Everyone who was walking through that street at the same time as Luna was currently being held in place, afraid to move because of the weapons that were being pointed at them.

Luna wasn't expecting any of this but this seemed to be a problem she couldn't easily evade.

"Who are you?" She asked, her gaze on the blonde man standing in front of her.

"I don't think it will do you any good to know that since we might not be seeing each other again after today." The man responded, still spinning his pistol on his fingers. "Just hand over the red orb and I'll be on my way."

Not quick to respond, Luna's face settled into a smile as she reached for her sunglasses.

"Do you mind enlightening me on why I should do that?" She remarked as she slowly slid the glasses into her pocket. "You know killing you from here is not anything difficult for me, right?"

"True." The man nodded. "However, I don't think that will be in your best interest."

"Huh?" Luna responded with a raised eyebrow.

"Up." The man said, pointing upward.

Luna followed his gesture and looked up to see something that left her stunned.

Pointing down on them from the buildings were a total of eight rocket launchers.

"The moment you make a wrong move toward me, they're going to fire those rockets all at once." The man disclosed, a sinister smile on his face. "They might not be able to harm you but I'm quite sure none of these innocent civilians will be left alive."

Discovering the weight of her current situation, the fairly relaxed expression on Luna's face slowly melted away, replaced by mixed expressions of anger and helplessness.

Sinking her teeth into her lower lip, she said; "I don't see how you'll make it out alive if those things are fired."

"You're right, I can't and I won't." He replied. "But that's okay; I mean, I'm only a dispensable pawn sent here to retrieve something important. If I'm unable to obtain it then sacrificing myself to deal a blow to you will only be a light punishment." He smiled.

'Is he crazy? Who talks about sacrificing himself with that expression?' Luna thought.

She was in the middle of that thought when she suddenly heard a gunshot.

The leader of the terrorist group seemed to have released a shot toward the crowd of people.

The bullet ended up hitting the leg of a random man who was screaming on the floor now while the rest of the people were in panic.

"You!"

Folding her right hand into a fist, Luna attempted to dash toward him in a moment of impulsiveness, but just as she took a step forward, a rocket was fired.

However, she didn't seem to be the target, the rocket was fired a bit forward toward a bookstore.

The explosive weapon blasted through the door of the building, destroying the walls and instantly setting the whole place ablaze.

The restlessness and panic among the people grew wilder after witnessing that, some of them tried to escape but that was only detrimental as they ended up getting shot down before they could go far.

Now, apart from the currently burning building, there were three dead bodies on the ground and a man who needed urgent medical attention or else he was going to bleed to death.

Luna was left helpless and speechless as she watched black smoke slowly ascend from the burning building.

Her breathing was shaking and breaking as she turned to the man who was still clutching onto his leg in pain.

"Why are you doing this?"

"That was just a warning." The man smiled. "I suppose you understand what's at stake now so you'll be wise to hand over the orb."

Luna didn't respond to that as she bit her lower lip hard enough to make it bleed while folding both of her hands into fists.

"More delay means you want to see more bodies drop. Alright then, I'll grant your wish."

A little boy who looked to be about seven years old was suddenly pushed in between the two, and with a sinister smile on his face, he slowly pointed his gun at the trembling boy.

"Stop it!" Luna yelled just before he could pull the trigger, her voice quite shaky. "I'll give it to you."

The grin on his face suddenly grew wider as he slowly brought his gun down.

Reaching for her coat pocket quite reluctantly, Luna brought out the red orb.

"Wonderful." The man remarked, his voice filled with elation.

Still very much reluctant, Luna slowly placed the orb on the ground and rolled it toward the blonde man.

Without hesitating, the man reached for the orb as soon as it got to him and picked it up.

"Hmm, so this is how it looks." He grinned proudly as he carefully observed the orb.

As if alerted by someone, he suddenly stopped in the middle of that to turn to Luna with a piercing gaze.

"I just got an interesting idea."

"What?" Luna asked.

"By some chance this turns out to be just a fake copy then everyone and everything around here will have to go up in flames alongside me." He declared as the grin on his face grew wider.

"Unfortunately, I didn't have the foresight to think that far, you would be dead by now otherwise," Luna responded, the hostility in her eyes seemingly more clear now.

"I'll hold you to your word then." The man said with a subtle nod before slipping the orb into his pocket.

After that, he snapped his fingers and as soon as he did that, the whole area got covered in smoke.

"So, this is your escape plan," Luna muttered to herself.

Calming herself a bit after taking a deep breath, she slowly unfolded her hands before joining them together for a single clap.

The force generated from the clap was enough to quickly disperse the smoke.

Just like she predicted, all the Dark Souls members, alongside their leader, were gone, and she had no way of telling where they escaped.

'I have to find a way to get that orb back.'

That was the only thing she could think of at that moment, but it would only take the cry of a desolate man to call her attention back to her current reality.

"This is all your fault!" The man screamed as he charged straight at her.

However, he was unable to achieve his goal as he ended up hitting the force field surrounding her which converted the normal force from his punch into spirit force and used it to blast him back.

"Unless you have enough spirit force to handle the repercussions, don't try to…."

She wasn't able to finish that statement as her ears and eyes were finally opened to the people wailing in grief around her.

Her obsessive fixation on the orb seemed to have shifted her attention away from everything that had just happened.

"My husband and son were inside there." A woman cried as she dropped to her knees in front of the burning bookstore.

The family of the man who got shot were desperately trying to keep him from losing more blood and the three who got murdered had their families weeping beside them.

To put it simply, the people were in disarray after everything they just witnessed and they had only one person to put all the blame on.

"This is all your fault." A teenage girl screamed in anger before she pulled out a stapler from her bag and launched it at Luna.

Just as always, the stapler was stopped by her force field before it could get to her.

"What did we ever do to you?!" Another person screamed.

"It's bad enough that we have to stay in this forsaken city. Did you have to do this to us?"

"Didn't you hear her talk about killing someone, she must be a killer!"

"Yes, an evil killer!"

Disregarding the fact that they couldn't break through her force field, the people threw more things at her to vent their anger. The things thrown were mostly dangerous tools like hammers, knives and wrenches.

She barely managed to calm herself to clear the smoke, but looking at everything happening around her, her breathing suddenly began to ramp up as she felt her chest getting tighter.

Clutching onto her chest, she turned around and tried to get away from the angry crowd.

However, the persistent crowd were not willing to let her go that easily as they followed her, consistently hurling things at her.

For a moment there, it looked like none of that stuff was going to touch her until a small bag of sachet water managed to slip through her force field, exploding on her face as soon as it made contact with it.

After that, followed an egg ended up cracking on her face.

"Hey, everyone, look, it looks like her powers aren't working anymore!"

"Get her! We can't allow her to escape!"

Under that command, the angry crowd charged toward her.

However, just before they could get to her, a hand stretched out from the alley on her right, grabbing hold of her arm and pulling her in.

The people followed her into the alley, but when they got there, there was nothing to be seen, which didn't make sense because it was a dead end up ahead.

"Huh?"
