Chapter 98 - Chapter 98: Attitude at the Summit

Pryzor, in his ultimate form, was a terrifying sight. His massive figure stood nearly four meters tall, covered in crimson fur that seemed to absorb the moonlight. His violet hair billowed in the wind, and his colossal limbs looked as though they could tear through steel like paper. His razor-sharp fangs gleamed under the spectral glow of the full moon. A beastly energy, suffocating in its intensity, emanated from him, saturating the air with an almost unbearable tension.

I remained impassive, but deep down, I felt the crushing pressure of his raw power. One wrong move could mean my end. Pryzor, his voice now distorted by his transformation, broke the silence.

— "During our battle, I hadn't noticed, but your blade is unique. I've never seen a weapon like it anywhere in Alderia."

I briefly lowered my gaze to my sword. Its silver gleam contrasted with the surrounding chaos. The hilt, finely engraved with a motif of a giraffe with red eyes on a yellow background, seemed to shine with its own light under the moon's rays.

— "It's the creation of a scientist from my kingdom," I replied calmly.

Pryzor smirked, revealing even larger fangs under his new form.

— "Impressive. You humans have found clever ways to compensate for your physical weaknesses against other races. But it won't be enough."

Without warning, Pryzor swung one of his massive claws in my direction. The shockwave generated by his attack tore through the air, devastating everything in its path. I raised my sword and, with a precise movement, ignited it before slicing the attack in two, dissipating the destructive energy before it could reach me.

But Pryzor was far from finished. His massive body moved at an astonishing speed. He unleashed a series of ferocious blows, each one resounding like a thunderclap. I dodged as much as I could, parrying some strikes, but fatigue was beginning to weigh on me. I needed to find an opening—fast.

Seizing a brief moment, I summoned my lightning magic and released an electric pulse to push him back. Pryzor staggered slightly from the impact, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

— "You're strong, Jonady Kaya, but I cannot afford to lose this fight against you. Die, Monarch of the Human Nation!"

A wild roar tore through the night as he activated a devastating technique.

— "Whirling Spiral!"

His massive arms began to spin at a blinding speed, generating a tornado of destruction around him. The ground cracked under the pressure, debris was hurled in every direction. The sheer force emanating from him made any approach nearly suicidal.

I knew I could no longer afford to take a single hit from such a deadly attack. Clenching my teeth, I took a deep breath and gathered my strength. Then, in a barely audible whisper, I declared:

— "Let's finish this, Pryzor."

I raised my sword toward the sky and activated my ultimate power. A second blade appeared in my left hand, a sword made entirely of pure electricity. Lightning danced along the blade, illuminating the night with a bluish glow.

With both weapons in hand, I charged at Pryzor.

— "Double Electrified Blade!"

Two slashes were released in the blink of an eye, each charged with destructive energy. The blades created a slicing shockwave that tore through the air, striking Pryzor head-on.

The impact was colossal. The blades cut through the Beast King's arms, severing his oversized limbs. The attack continued its course, slicing through his torso in an explosion of sparks and blood.

Pryzor staggered, his colossal body wavering under the unbearable pain. Then, with one final gasp, he collapsed heavily to the ground, raising a cloud of dust and debris.

Silence fell over the ruined city.

Gradually, Pryzor returned to his human form. Weakened, dying, he lifted his gaze to the night sky, gazing at the full moon one last time. Despite the pain twisting his features, a serene expression and a nostalgic smile formed on his face.

— "Kelwodius… What an incredible journey..." he murmured weakly. "It's a shame it ends here."

I approached him slowly, my sword still in hand, but my gaze filled with respect. Pryzor, with his last ounce of strength, looked up at me and whispered:

— "I have no regrets. Congratulations on your victory, Monarch of Ednia. May you live epics as grand as this one..."

These were his final words. Pryzor, the Beast King of Etrakios, exhaled his last breath under the pale light of the moon.

I stood still for a moment, observing the warrior who, until the end, had embraced his fate with honor. Then, in a solemn gesture, I gently closed his eyes.

— "Farewell, Pryzor, King of Etrakios."

Hurried footsteps broke the silence. I turned and saw my subordinates finally arriving. Among them, Raelia, tears in her eyes, ran toward me and threw herself into my arms.

— "Jonady… You're alive! I was so scared!" she said, her voice broken with emotion.

I held her gently against me, feeling her trembling gradually subside.

— "Yes, Rael, it's over. We're going home."

She nodded against my chest, her voice barely a whisper.

— "Yes… Let's return to Ednia."

I lifted my gaze to the horizon. The full moon still shone, a silent witness to our titanic battle. An era had ended. But a new one was beginning, marked by courage, the fall of the King of Etrakios, and the Prince of the Katakiel Empire.

The road to Ednia would be long. But, for the first time in a long while, a fragile peace finally seemed within reach.
