Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: And Then There was Three

Beowulf scratched the chest of the Giant using his Prowler's Pounce, but just like when he tried to scratch the ankle, the marks were hardly visible, and the Giant didn't seem to feel any pain.

"Damn it! Maybe I'm not going fast enough!" Beowulf cursed.

He dropped onto the wrestling ring's canvas after performing a Prowler's Pounce and leaped on all fours towards another one of the ring's ropes to perform another Prowler's Pounce. He was slightly faster this time and had scratched the Giant using his claws, but the results were the same: no visible signs of claw marks, and the Giant remained unharmed.

"Faster. I have to go faster!" Beowulf performed Prowler's Pounce after Prowler's Pounce with no results until suddenly—

"AHHH!" The Giant screamed. Beowulf turned back in mid-air to see a claw mark with blood dripping from it. He grinned. "Finally! Just gotta keep it up," Beowulf said.

After another handful of Prowler's Pounces, Beowulf had become a blur—or rather, a collection of blurs—all hitting the Giant at the same time. Claw mark after claw mark kept showing up all over the Giant, and there was nothing the Giant could do to stop it. He couldn't evade or catch Beowulf. All he could do was stand and take the damage.

"Time for step four," the Heat grunted. The Heat used his flame abilities on the chain, and fire passed through it, burning the Giant in the process.

"AHHH!" The Giant screamed as steam rose from his skin.

The Tough Guy could also feel the flames burning his already burnt hands but endured it. His level of endurance was truly above superhuman. With Beowulf constantly using Prowler's Pounces to attack the Giant from every direction and the Heat using the Tough Guy's chain to burn him constantly, the Giant seemed to be wearing out.

"Look at this, Jensen! It seems the merged twin Giant is done for!" Daryl exclaimed.

"Not the best name for them, so let's call them the Giant!" Jensen exclaimed. "And I have to agree with you! It seems the collaboration between these three wrestlers to take down this colossus is paying off! I can't help but root for them."

The Giant dropped to one knee. The constant attacks from Beowulf and the burning chain on his skin seemed to be too much for him. But then, more veins appeared all over his body. The Giant gritted his teeth and got up on his feet despite the constant damage he was taking.

The Giant pulled both sides of the chain towards himself. He had done that before, but this time seemed different. The chain seemed to crack. This caused the Tough Guy's eyes to widen. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

The Giant kept pulling despite the unfathomable pain he was in. He pulled and pulled until—

"AHHHHHHH!" The Giant screamed, and as he did, he finally broke the chain. Pieces of the chain dropped to the ground, and the Giant was finally free.

"INCREDIBLE!" Daryl exclaimed. "I was starting to think that the chain was unbreakable!"

"Just like The Song's guitar, nothing is unbreakable! What matters now is that the Giant is free, and I have a feeling that he intends to deal as much damage to those three as they did to him," Jensen exclaimed.

Beowulf, moving at an incredible speed, saw the Giant break out of the chain during one of his Prowler's Pounces. He quickly retracted his claws and brought out his shoulder.

Beowulf crashed into the Giant at an incredible speed using his shoulder. He was far faster than he had ever been. This caused the Giant to tumble over to one of the ring's ropes. He rested his back on them.

Beowulf dropped on all fours after the crash and ran toward the Giant. The Tough Guy and the Heat did the same. This was their chance to get rid of the Giant.

Beowulf reached the Giant first, and the other two arrived shortly after. Luckily, the Giant seemed weakened from their previous attacks, so he didn't retaliate.

The three of them all carried the Giant and attempted to throw him over. But the Giant quickly reacted and used one of his hands to grab onto the ring ropes.

The three wrestlers tried and tried to throw the Giant over the ring, but the Giant's grip on the ring's ropes was just too tight. To make matters worse, the Giant seemed to be pushing them back and winning. Soon, he would re-enter the ring.

"OH HELL NO!" the Heat exclaimed. He grabbed onto the same rope that the Giant was holding and used his flame powers. The ring's rope burned, and it burned greatly, causing the Giant to scream and let go as a reflex.

The three wrestlers used this opportunity to summon all their combined strength and throw the Giant over. They succeeded. The Giant fell out of the wrestling ring and landed face-first into the sea of suffering.

The souls grabbed onto him tightly and sank him down, just like all the previously eliminated wrestlers.

"Another wrestler eliminated, and three remain!" Daryl exclaimed.

"Technically, it was two wrestlers! Remember, Daryl? The Giant was actually the twins merged!" Jensen exclaimed.

"Right! That was freaky! Anyway, the climax of the royal rumble is near! The question remains: which wrestler is going to be thrown into the sea of suffering next?" Daryl exclaimed.

The remaining three wrestlers quickly moved away from each other and were now positioned in a sort of triangle, each looking left and right at the others.

"So, what do you say? Let's go with the original plan. The two of us against Beowulf. We can take him," the Heat proposed to the Tough Guy.

This made Beowulf a little anxious, but he hid it well. He didn't want to admit it, but fighting multiple wrestlers at the same time had really worn him out.

His eyes turned to the Tough Guy, hoping he would decline the Heat's offer.

"Yeah, fat chance. After we both double-crossed the twins, it's clear none of us are trustworthy. So, I'm going to have to say no to the two of us teaming up again," the Tough Guy said.

Beowulf was relieved but only a little. It was good that the two wrestlers wouldn't be teaming up against him, but it didn't change the fact that they were still his opponents.

Their eyes constantly shifted to each other, wondering who would make the first move. Moments passed, and none of them did anything.

"Ah, screw it!" the Heat said.

He charged towards both Beowulf and the Tough Guy, causing them to do the same.
