Eli thought the whole thing was ridiculous. It was quite clear to him that Jane already had all the information on him from his previous school. They knew that he never had an ability before.
"I don't have an ability."
The hooded man standing by her side handed her a book and then handed it to Eli.
"I'm sorry but I don't want it," Eli said as he handed the book back to Jane.
The students watching and the instructor that stood there were both shocked. Jane hadn't experienced anything like this before. In her five years working as an instructor, it was the first time someone with no ability had rejected the book.
"Please give me one moment." Jane then stood away from the group of students far enough so they wouldn't be able to hear anything.
"Yes, Yes, he says he doesn't want the ability book what shall I do?" Jane said speaking on her earpiece.
"let him take the test." The mysterious man on the phone said.
As the man hung up, he couldn't help but think that Eli was an interesting student. He started to look at Eli's file and what he had said seemed to be true. The student had no ability and didn't seem to have any relations with the group Pure.
"Let's see how long you can survive in this cruel world Eli." The man said.
Back at the testing field, Jane had finished the call with her superior and started to head back over to the group.
"Sorry for waiting, "Jane said. "Since you won't be taking the ability book, we will still require you to take the test please."
Eli thought the whole thing was a joke. If Eli truly had no ability then they already knew what the test results were going to be. Was there really a need for him to take the test. If felt like the only reason they wanted Eli to continue was to make himself feel humiliated and small. Eventually, then he would choose to go to the military and beg for the ability book they were handing out.
Virtual Test for Ability Users
Strength Test
The strength test consists of four tasks:
Punching a machine: The participants have to punch a machine that measures the force of their impact. The higher the force, the higher the score.
Lifting boulders: The participants have to lift as many boulders as they can in one minute. The boulders vary in size and weight. The heavier the boulder, the higher the score.
Breaking a wall: The participants have to break through a reinforced concrete wall using their abilities. The faster they break the wall, the higher the score.
Arm wrestling: The participants have to arm wrestle with a robotic arm that adjusts its strength according to the opponent. The longer they resist the arm, the higher the score.
Mazi used her ice ability in the first round to create a frozen fist that delivered a powerful punch to the machine. In the second round she used her ice ability to freeze and make the boulders lighter and easier to lift. In the third round She used her ice ability to freeze the wall and make it brittle, but she was slower than the others. In the fourth round she used her ice ability to cool down the robotic arm and make it less responsive, but she still lost the arm wrestling.
Fist Guy used his energy fist ability to enhance his punch with a burst of energy that hit the machine hard. In the second round he used his energy fist ability to lift the heaviest boulders with ease. In the third round he used his energy fist ability to blast a hole through the wall. In the fourth round he used his energy fist ability to match the strength of the robotic arm and win the arm wrestling.
Cartl used his electricity ability to shock the machine and make it register a high force. He also used his electromagnetism ability to levitate the boulders and move them quickly. He used his electricity ability to electrocute the wall and make it explode, achieving the fastest time. He used his electricity ability to short-circuit the robotic arm and make it stop working, winning the arm wrestling by default.
Eli had no ability, so he had to rely on his physical strength and skills. He punched the machine with his bare fist, but it barely registered. He lifted the lightest boulders, but he struggled. He could not break the wall, so he gave up. He arm wrestled the robotic arm, but he lost in seconds.

Stamina Test
The stamina test consists of four tasks:
Running: The participants have to run on a track that has obstacles and traps, such as sand mines, spikes, and lasers. The longer they run, the higher the score.
Swimming: The participants have to swim in a pool that has electric eels, piranhas, and whirlpools. The longer they swim, the higher the score.
Climbing: The participants have to climb a wall that has slippery surfaces, sharp edges, and falling rocks. The higher they climb, the higher the score.
Cycling: The participants have to cycle on a road that has potholes, traffic, and explosions. The faster they cycle, the higher the score.
Mazi used her ice ability to create a path of ice that avoided the obstacles and traps on the track. In the second round she used her ice ability to freeze the water and swim under it, avoiding the electric eels, piranhas, and whirlpools. In the third round she used her ice ability to create ice spikes that helped her climb the wall. In the fourth round she used her ice ability to create a sled that slid on the road, avoiding the potholes, traffic, and explosions.
Fist Guy used his energy fist ability to blast away the obstacles and traps on the track. In the second round he used his energy fist ability to scare away the electric eels and piranhas, and create an energy bubble that helped him swim through the whirlpools. In the third round he used his energy fist ability to punch holes in the wall that helped him climb. In the fourth round he used his energy fist ability to propel himself on the road, avoiding the potholes, traffic, and explosions.
Cartl used his electricity ability to disable the obstacles and traps on the track. In the second round he used his electricity ability to kill the electric eels but he lost consciousness after using his ability under water. In the third round he used his electricity ability was of no use in climbing the stone wall. In the fourth round he used his electricity ability to power his bike on the road, avoiding the potholes, traffic, and explosions.
Eli had no ability, so he had to rely on his endurance and agility. He ran on the track, but he hit many obstacles and traps. He swam in the pool, but he was attacked by the electric eels, piranhas, and whirlpools. He could not climb the wall, so he fell. He cycled on the road, but he hit many potholes, traffic, and explosions.

Agility Test
The agility test consists of four tasks:
Dodging drones: The participants have to dodge as many drones as they can that fire lasers, missiles, and nets at them. The more drones they dodge, the higher the score.
Jumping platforms: The participants have to jump from one platform to another that are moving, rotating, and disappearing. The more platforms they jump, the higher the score.
Balancing beams: The participants have to balance on a beam that is tilting, shaking, and spinning. The longer they balance, the higher the score.
Sliding pipes: The participants have to slide through a pipe that has bends, bumps, and blades. The faster they slide, the higher the score.
Mazi used her ice ability to create a shield of ice that blocked the drones' attacks. In the second round she used her ice ability to create platforms of ice that she jumped on, avoiding the moving, rotating, and disappearing ones. In the third round she used her ice ability to create a layer of ice on the beam that stabilized it. In the fourth round she used her ice ability to create a slide of ice that he slid on, avoiding the bends, bumps, and blades.
Fist Guy used his energy fist ability to shoot back at the drones and destroy them. In the second round he used his energy fist ability to propel himself from one platform to another, avoiding the moving, rotating, and disappearing ones. In the third round he used his energy fist ability to create a force field around the beam that balanced it. In the fourth round he used his energy fist ability but he couldn't avoid all the bends, bumps, and blades.
Cartl used his electricity ability to disrupt the drones signal and make them fly away. In the second round he used his electricity ability but failed to move from one platform to another, avoiding the moving, rotating, and disappearing ones. In the third round he used his electricity ability to create a magnetic field around the beam that stabilized it. In the fourth round he used his electricity ability but fell off the bends, bumps, and blades.
Eli had no ability, so he had to rely on his reflexes and coordination. He dodged the drones, but he was hit by many of their attacks. He jumped from one platform to another, but he missed many of them and fell. He balanced on the beam, but he was thrown off by its movements. He slid through the pipe, but he was cut by many of its blades.
