The next day, Aniket stood at the head of a sleek conference table in the heart of their family business headquarters. It was now the time when he and his sister should make their very first investment-a renewable energy business which will be the very foundation of their booming business empire. His family was already succeeding in real estate as it acquired strategic portions of the land on major locations. This test however, of true challenges was to be met as it went into technological sectors.
The office was minimalist and modern: glass walls, clean lines, and a holographic display in the center of the room that flickered to life as Aniket swiped his hand through the air. Data and projections of the renewable energy market sprang to life, charting trends and fluctuations all around the world.
His brother, Karan, was the first to raise his voice, "We are entering a competitive market. What makes us different? Why will we succeed where others have failed?
He leaned forward to hold his fingers just above the holographic screen. "Our edge is simple: we don't have to be right out of the gate. We have access to resources and technology that makes anything other company is available to less than the finest. We can use all the time it takes to try and test and iterate and polish. They'll be shipping stuff 'good enough,' but we'll be able to spend the time necessary to change stuff for good.".
Karan's eyebrow shot up. "So you mean, outpace the competition by out-qualitying them?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying," said Aniket definitively. "Every single product that's leaving our factory is going to be at the absolute highest quality-this is our family advantage. My 100-time quality means that everything that we touch is going to be superior. We don't just go out there to participate in the market; we redefined it.".
His sister, Priya nodded thoughtfully. She was the most practical member of the family. "Agreed. But quality will not be enough. Markets are changing fast and the new technologies are emerging daily. We need to make sure that our projects are scalable and adaptable to future needs.".
Aniket stepped out of the wide window to survey the view of their estate—it was a still world outside. Yesterday and today silent modest. His family was in such a way unmentioned on this account for the time being: an anonymous quantity within an industry of immense size. It was after all nothing but a thoughtful strategy. There had been every careful play and they had time with which to make their move.
"We'll start small," he said, breaking the silence. "This first investment will be in solar and wind energy, but with a twist. We'll enhance the energy generation efficiency by using advanced materials that no one else has access to yet. The materials in question will be procured through the store—materials that will only be available to us due to our family's unique standing."
His mother, Meera, leaned forward in her chair, the very calm on her face was filled with conviction. "And it will be sustainable. We shall build it for the long run. We don't want to burn out too fast.".
Aniket nodded. "Exactly. The technology will be scalable, something that will evolve as the world demands more energy, and as new innovations become apparent. We will not just be producing for the day. We'll prepare for tomorrow."
His dad, Raghav, whom he hadn't spoken so far, spoke now, "And what about real estate? How do we integrate that into this scheme?
Aniket began to think of the whole real estate scenario. Lands purchased by all of them showed great scope for growth—it is in proximity to the new developments of urbanization, accesses to future growth of infrastructures, and it also provides scopes for green projects in the future along with it. Anikets manage to get a hand on those lands on whose worth continues to go up with time so they sold it or developed it according to their schedule.
"Real estate will play a supportive role for now," he explained. "Once we have started to stabilize the position in the energy area, we will use that real estate to create self-sustaining cities for our energy production. They would be powered entirely by those technologies we develop. And it would be kind of testing grounds for future development."
Completely sustainable city? Sounds ambitious. I really love this idea. And this way of life has actually been in transition to a more 'eco-friendly world.' Then, we get this chance of setting 'the standard for cities going forward,'\" Priya excitedly said.
"Well, more than just an energy efficiency proposition," Aniket said with a faint smile. It really sets the stage for the future-setting the example of what the world could look like in a hundred years. It's all interlocked. As we grow our technologies, the real estate will grow in value. As the world's cities have to evolve to higher standards of living and sustainability, we will be ahead of the curve, having already anticipated what is needed.
Karan folded his arms. "This is a long-term vision. But what happens about the short term? How will we compete into the nearer future?
Aniket hesitated, a fraction of a response in delay. "That is where caution needs to come in. Every foot that we step will have importance. We will not jump into the market place with a product unless run tested and then to top everything off we should keep it one step ahead of anyone and everyone in this case that means keeping ourselves up as well.".
His father nodded. "I think you are right, but we have to act now, though. And don't forget, it's not so much the speed that determines everything, but rather it's the quality of decisions we make," he added.
Aniket turned to the holographic display. It was already unrolling the future before him: uncharted country of challenges, opportunities, and risk. Yet he felt that his family's journey had already started, in the light of the knowledge, technology, and resources he had at his command.
As silent planning went on by the family, Aniket started to stir to life at this greater something in his; something he merely just knows about: this deepest of unshakingly rooted beliefs that at merely in creating this foundational plan given within the Mortal Realm, it only showed, step one for many yet to be so described.
Aniket took a deep breath, chose, and started. Steps into this new world of energy and real estate were just an initiation. A long journey lay ahead and was indeed to be followed by all caution, prudence, wisdom, and patience they had built so carefully over years.
And now, innovation seeds would have been planted. Only waiting for that was required to be done.
