Chapter 05

The Mythrilux also amplifies magic within its vicinity, shifting colors depending on the viewer's mood and the surrounding environment. It also filters out negative energies, creating a harmonious atmosphere and allows for subtle, shimmering illusions to be cast upon its surface.

Aiden added while looking around in appreciation; the money was definitely worth it.

"Yeah, it does," Elena said, looking at the building in a new light. "Can I get the menu? And I need the one with simple dishes," Elena said, looking at Sia and Aiden, who chuckled and nodded at her.

"Here it is," Jane said, handing them the menu. Let's see what's in it,Elena thought, opening the menu.

Golden Opulence Omelette: A simple omelette made with golden caviar, truffles, and 24K gold leaf, priced at 1,000,000vd.

Mystical Matsutake Risotto: A creamy risotto infused with rare, magical matsutake mushrooms, costing 800,000vd.

Unicorn's Tear Soup: A clear broth made with the tears of rare, mystical unicorns, priced at 600,000vd.

Phoenix Ash Grilled Cheese: A grilled cheese sandwich infused with the essence of phoenix ash, costing 500,000vd.

Dragon's Breath Chicken Wings: Crispy chicken wings marinated in a sauce made with rare, magical dragon's breath peppers, priced at 400,000vd.

Mermaid's Kiss Sushi Roll: A simple sushi roll made with rare, magical mermaid's kiss caviar, costing 300,000vd.

Fae Dust Fries: Crispy fries sprinkled with rare, magical fae dust, priced at 200,000vd.

These simple dishes are elevated to new heights by the use of rare, exclusive, and magical ingredients, making them very expensive despite their simplicity.

Jane explained politely while still looking at them. "I will have the omelette," Elena said.

"I will have it too," Sia added.

"I'll take the soup and chicken wings," Aiden added. Their food was served as they ate silently. I looked away from my meal to glance at Aiden, who was telling us about his experience in the academy.

"I still have a pack here in the academy, the Crescent Moon Pack."

"Isn't that your family's pack?" Sia said, confused. "Or are they in your pack? Even if all of you are part of the Crescent Moon Pack," Elena added, looking at Aiden, who nodded affirmatively.

That's when everyone suddenly went quiet, the entire floor silent, looking in the direction of the elevator.

"What's happening?" Sia asked.

"He's coming. It can only be him."

"Who is that, Aiden?" I asked, looking at the elevator and then back at Aiden, who had a grim look on his face. Even Sia was silent. Maybe they know something I don't. That's when the elevator opened.

Step, step, step—those were the only sounds anyone could hear, the sound of his footsteps. Looking at him, he was breathtakingly beautiful in a way that made me question how anyone, especially a man, could possess such beauty. I found myself captivated by him.

He was mysterious and captivating, with an air of quiet confidence. His eyes were the most striking feature—two gleaming onyx orbs that seemed to absorb and reflect light at the same time, giving them an otherworldly intensity. They sparkled with a hint of magic and wisdom beyond his years.

His dark hair fell around his chiseled features, framing a sharp jawline and prominent cheekbones. His skin was like white porcelain.

He stood tall, with an athletic yet lean build, as if he had been sculpted from white jade, exuding a sense of fluid grace. His style was effortlessly elegant, with a subtle nod to mystical or ancient influences.

Despite his mesmerizing appearance, it was his onyx eyes that truly drew you in—they seemed to hold secrets, whispers of ancient mysteries, and a deep understanding of the universe.

It took almost everything I had to look away. I finally turned away from him to look at Aiden, who in turn was looking at me, frowning, but I didn't think much about it.

"Who is he?" I asked, even though I already had an inkling about his identity.

"He's Dave Atlas. That's the only thing that's known about him personally, apart from his influence and wealth," I said, looking at Elena, who finally composed herself.

"The rumored fifth warden of the academy?"

"Yes, he's the one. He owns these suites and this restaurant, along with other Atlas companies," Sia added.

"He's not alone. Isn't that Elara Vex, the Student Council President?" Sia said, looking at them.

I was surprised when I saw him. I knew he was not ordinary when I heard about the rumored fifth warden, and those descriptions I eavesdropped on from people didn't do justice to his real appearance. I just hope he never comes for Elena. Aiden wouldn't stand a chance, I thought, looking at the two. I was almost sidelined throughout their conversation, sigh.

That Elena can't even take a hint. Aiden has changed. It's either she noticed and just doesn't want to talk about it, or she's unaware. I believe it's the former.

Looking at the people who suddenly went silent as he walked in, I couldn't help but sigh softly. It was his presence. His aura—it has always been like this. "Elara," he called, as I turned to look at him as we entered the private room we always used on important occasions.

We sat down as he turned to look at me. "You are distracted, Lara. What's the problem?"

"It's nothing important, Dave," I said, looking at him.

"How is the search going? Any good news?"

"Nothing yet, but I will let you know if there is any. It's really close; I can feel it. But at the same time, it feels so far away. It's hard to tell. It's like something is obstructing my senses, and it can't be good. If there's anything that can obstruct me, it must be very powerful, Lara."

"What about that cult? Have they made any moves yet? They've been very quiet as of late."

"No, they haven't, Dave. I have been observing everything."

"Can't you just find them? You could if you wanted to."

I smiled bitterly, looking at Elara. "You know I can't do that. They would sense me, and once they do, all my planning will go down the drain. It's not worth it."

"I just need to find it, and then I don't care what comes next. I'll just deal with it. I've been laying low for a reason, don't forget that."

"Okay," I said, looking at him. I don't really know what he's looking for. No one that's looking for it does, really. All that we know is how to identify it once we find it, through the necklace with his aura on it that he gave us. He said it would send us a signal once we found it.

I think all this would have been easier if we knew what we were looking for. I think even he has no idea either, even if he won't admit it. I sighed just thinking about it. Everything was just a mess.

"I think I will have to ask Zephyr. He might have an idea of what they are up to," he said, looking at me.

"Yeah, you should ask him. If anyone were to be aware of their movement, it should be him."

"This is so frustrating. If only I could just go all out. But I know that would be foolish. I've been waiting for so long that I've lost count already. How many years has it been—a decade, a century? The last time I went to sleep was when this academy was founded. I woke up five years ago, and that cult has only grown more annoying," I thought, taking deep breaths. "I have to be patient. A few more years won't really matter. They will feel my wrath sooner or later."

"Come, Lara, let's go and meet Zephyr," I said, walking towards the door. I came out of the private room, only to feel a pair of obsidian eyes looking at me.
