Jaden had only met Luna Zhou's husband, Henry Lin, once. But seeing Henry with Jenny quickly triggered his memory. A quick glance at the two revealed Jenny's anxious expression, as if worried Jaden might approach them.
Jaden's mind raced. If he approached and said something, could he create a misunderstanding between Jenny and Henry Lin? Could he make Henry suspect Jenny of having an affair with him? But without concrete evidence of their relationship, acting rashly might backfire. Jenny, being clever, could easily clear herself of suspicion, and the plan would fail. If he disrupted their relationship, Jenny would likely resent him and cut ties.
Realizing this, Jaden felt frustrated with Luna Zhou's hasty arrangement. She was too impatient. As Jaden and Jenny walked past each other, he briefly glanced at them, then looked away, leaving a faint, ambiguous smile for Jenny to see. He played along with Jenny, knowing she understood the act. Only by continuing this charade could he proceed with Luna Zhou's plan after leaving the resort.
However, just as they were about to pass each other, Henry Lin suddenly stopped, "Wait a moment, mate!"
Henry's voice startled both Jenny and Jaden. They hadn't expected him to speak.
"Are you talking to me?" Jaden hesitated but stopped, calmly facing Henry.
"Yes, mate. Have we met before?" Henry stepped closer, scrutinizing Jaden.
Jenny, worried, stayed quietly by Henry's side.
"I don't think so. You look unfamiliar, but maybe we've met somewhere and forgotten," Jaden smiled, though he worried Henry might recognize him. When they first met, Jaden was just a delivery man. Now, he was dressed as a wealthy young man. If Henry recognized him, it could cause trouble for Luna Zhou.
"May I ask your name and occupation?" Henry asked, recalling something.
"Is that important? I don't like people prying into my background," Jaden feigned annoyance. Anyone would be upset if a stranger questioned them, even politely.
"Sorry, you just look familiar. I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Henry Lin, CEO of a software company. You seem friendly; maybe we could collaborate in the future," Henry apologized and introduced himself.
"I work in overseas trade. I don't think we have much in common," Jaden replied, slightly regretful.
"Overseas trade? Maybe... I know some people in that field, but our relationship is strained. If you don't mind, could you give me your card? Besides my software company, I have other businesses. We might collaborate someday," Henry suggested.
Jaden wondered why Henry was so eager to know him. Was it just a vague memory? After considering, Jaden said, "Sorry, I don't have a card. My name is Jaden. It's better to meet by chance. I have some matters to attend to. Maybe we can chat later."
"Jaden? Alright, sorry to take your time. I'm just here briefly. If needed, you can talk to my girlfriend," Henry glanced at Jenny, who looked surprised.
"Alright, goodbye!" Jaden glanced at Jenny and calmly left, amused that Henry didn't know he and Jenny already knew each other and were just about to cheat on him.
Henry watched Jaden leave, smiling, "Interesting guy, quite unique."
"Darling, why did you want to know a stranger?" Jenny asked, curious.
"Nothing, he just looked familiar. I wanted to ask. But he wasn't very friendly. Maybe he's a rich kid. I wonder what his family does," Henry mused.
"Do you want me to get close to him, find out more? Should I seduce him?" Jenny tilted her head.
"No way, you're my baby. I wouldn't let you seduce other men. If you seduce anyone, it should be me," Henry laughed, pinching her cheek.
"You're naughty. Why are you here? Weren't you on a business trip?" Jenny asked.
"Just wanted to see you. This resort is nice. I've tried booking it for clients but couldn't get tickets," Henry explained, secretly assessing if Jenny was involved with another man as a mysterious message suggested.
"Good luck. Will you stay with me? My ticket is for three days," Jenny looked at him expectantly.
"We'll see," Henry replied, then added, "If you see that guy again, find out more. No need to ask directly. He just looks familiar, and I can't remember him. But be careful, don't let anyone take advantage."
"Don't worry, only you can take advantage of me. If I see him, I'll ask casually," Jenny smiled.
"Good. Let's check your room?" Henry's eyes gleamed with anticipation, a knowing smile on his face.
"You're bad, always up to no good," Jenny blushed, making her more alluring. She let Henry lead her to her room.
Though Jaden said goodbye, he didn't go far. He found a corner to observe them. Henry's attitude towards Jenny was different from what Jaden saw at Luna Zhou's house. Jaden sighed, realizing Luna Zhou's hope of getting Henry back was slim.
He heard a group laughing and saw a familiar figure entering the resort elevator. Jaden hurried over, but the doors closed. Anxious, he watched the elevator's final stop.
