Kiara's Point of View
The silence between us was unbearable, a thick, suffocating fog that settled over the room. Lucius stood there, staring at me with those intense eyes of his, and I could feel the weight of his accusations before he even spoke. My chest tightened as anger bubbled beneath the surface.
"I can't believe this," I finally said, my voice shaking. "You think I did it, don't you? You think I killed her."
His jaw clenched. "The sword doesn't lie, Kiara. Athena's sword was there, unsheathed. You're the only one who can wield it."
"That doesn't mean I used it!" I shot back, my voice rising. "I didn't do it, Lucius!"
"Then how did it get there?" he demanded, his tone sharp and cutting. "How do you explain that?"
