The footsteps grew louder, echoing in the dim room. Damian's gaze flicked to mine, a silent question in his eyes: Are you ready? I gave the smallest nod, despite my heart hammering in my chest.
The lead figure approached again, their posture exuding control. "Have you thought about your situation?" they asked, their voice a low, mocking drawl.
"We've thought about how ridiculous this is," Damian shot back, his tone edged with defiance. "What do you even want?"
The figure ignored him, focusing on me. "And you? Feeling talkative yet?"
