Hearing from Winifred, that she will do this test, Elise smiled. "Actually, I'm just kidding, but if you want to do this test, then okay, this will be your future test," Elise replied with a bit of a smile.
"What?" Hearing Elise say she was only kidding, Winifred was shocked. She quickly replied, "I don't want to do that test!" Elise laughed. "Haha…!" Winifred understood that Elise was joking, but she also realized she would have to clear this test in the future.
"So, do I really need to do this test?" Winifred asked, with a bit of doubt in her mind.
"Yes, I'm just kidding. You have to do this test in the future," Elise replied with a smile, looking toward Winifred.
Confirming her doubt that she had to do this test, Winifred looked toward the animal prison shop and took a long breath.
"Don't worry. You said you'd do this, and we have enough time, so don't worry," Elise said, comforting Winifred.
"Yeah, you're right," Winifred replied.
Winifred and Elise continued walking. Elise bought some books for Winifred near the bookstore.
"We bought everything we need, but there are still some things remaining. Let's go," Elise said, looking at Winifred.
Winifred replied, "Okay…!"
Elise and Winifred continued walking around the city circle. While walking with Elise, Winifred saw all kinds of different things, things she had never seen in her life.
After walking for a while, Elise and Winifred completed a round of the city and came back to where they had eaten first.
"We've returned," Winifred said.
"You're too focused on seeing other things that you never realized we were just walking in circles," Elise said with a smile.
"Yes…! You're right. I've never seen anything like this," Winifred replied, accepting what Elise had just said.
"Hmm… Soon the sun will be in the middle, and half the day will be gone. We've been walking for a long time. Let's drink something here again," Elise said, pointing toward the same restaurant they went to earlier.
"Oh… okay," Winifred replied.
Elise and Winifred entered the restaurant again. While entering, the cat girl named Faye saw them. Faye was carrying a big plate in her hand, serving the customers. She looked at Winifred with a blank expression. She stared for a moment and then walked away.
'Why did she look so blank?' Winifred thought.
Entering the restaurant, Elise and Winifred tried to find a table for themselves. After finding a table near the back wall, Elise ordered something that Winifred didn't understand. The waiter this time was a human.
There were more people in the restaurant compared to the early morning when Winifred and Elise had come.
"Do you know that man, the one who talked to us this morning?" Winifred asked, referring to the man who worked at the restaurant.
"Yes, this is my favorite restaurant, and I've come here many times, so he knows me. He's the owner of this restaurant," Elise said with a smile.
Winifred understood why the man had spoken as if he was familiar with Elise.
After waiting a while, the same waiter brought two drinks for Elise and Winifred. The drinks were served in glasses.
'So glasses exist in this world,' Winifred thought, seeing the glasses.
"Let's drink," Elise said. Elise and Winifred started drinking. After finishing, Winifred felt a surge of energy in her body and a cold refreshment.
"What…! I feel energized and cool," Winifred said.
"This is a healing drink. Many adventurers like this feature, and I like it too," Elise replied, explaining that the drink they were having was actually an adventurer's drink.
Hearing Elise, Winifred's curiosity grew. She finished her drink.
"Yes, it tastes good too," Winifred replied.
"You don't drink, right?" Elise asked.
"Yes, in my world, people can drink after age 18, but I've never drunk before," Winifred said, explaining that she had never had a drink before.
"That's bad! If you knew the taste of drinks in your world, you could tell which drink is better—your world's or this one's," Elise said, feeling a bit disappointed.
"Do you want to drink?" Elise asked with a smile, like a child full of excitement.
"I'm not sure, but I'd like to try," Winifred replied, feeling a bit nervous.
"We'll drink together after you become a witch, okay…!" Elise replied.
"Okay," Winifred replied with a smile and excitement.
"Just don't tell that doll, okay, about this drinking thing," Elise said, placing her hand beside her mouth as if telling Winifred a secret.
"Haha…" Winifred laughed, looking at Elise. Elise smiled too.
"Why is Mister Doll a doll?" Winifred asked. Elise was still laughing. Hearing Winifred, Elise suddenly stopped. Looking at Elise, Winifred realized something was wrong and quickly replied, "Sorry if it hurt you."
"No, actually, it's a good time to tell you," Elise replied with a calm voice and started telling Winifred about the doll.
The doll was not always a doll. He was once a human, but his name was actually The Doll. The reason he became a doll was because of a person who made him this way. That person is still free in the outside world, and we don't know where he is. He is powerful and evil. That's all I can tell you.
Hearing that the doll was once a person, Winifred felt bad for him.
"The evil person who made the doll,a doll, is he stronger than you?" Winifred asked.
Looking at the sincerity in Winifred's eyes, Elise replied with a smile, "Yes… he is stronger than me."
Winifred knew how strong Elise was, but learning there was someone even stronger made her feel a bit afraid.
'This feeling… I've never felt this in my world,' Winifred thought.
"Let's go. Remember, I'm going to teach you magic from today," Elise said with a smile, standing up from her chair.
"Oh… yes," Winifred replied with a smile, also standing up from her chair.
Elise and Winifred started walking toward the east gate where they had come from.
"How long has it been since Mister Doll became a doll?" Winifred asked.
"Three hundred and fifty years," Elise replied.
"That's a long time. So can people live more than a hundred years in this world?" Winifred asked, hearing that the doll was three hundred and fifty years old.
"Yes. If you become powerful, you can maintain your mana and live longer. It's very easy, but only for those who are strong—really, really strong. Strong enough to destroy an entire empire," Elise replied.
Hearing about the power level, Winifred was shocked but also excited at the same time.
