Chapter 32 - Sleepy

"Mom...….!" Winifred yelled, suddenly waking up with a shock. Because of the shock, her face was swollen, her eyes were big, and her eyebrows sped up, giving her a look like she had just seen a monster. She looked around and found herself on the bed in Elise's room. Suddenly, she started remembering everything—her last memory was what happened before on the small mountain.

Hearing Winifred yell, Elise, sitting on the sofa, turned her head towards the room where Winifred was sleeping.

"She woke up….," Elise said with a calm voice and a small smile on her face. Near her, on a wooden table, the doll said with a serious voice,

"Give her some time….."

Near the doll, on the same table, the black crow sitting there also heard Winifred yell.

Turning her head towards the crow, Elise said,

"Tell her not to move and just sleep there. Explain to her why." Elise smiled, instructing the crow.

"As you wish…!" the crow replied, slightly bending himself while standing on his legs on the table.

Cleaning her swollen face, Winifred tried to calm down on the bed.

"Miss Elise told me to tell you not to move from your place," hearing the familiar voice, Winifred suddenly looked at the window from where the voice was coming. She saw a crow sitting on the window with its red eyes looking straight at her. Taking a bit of time, she replied,

"Elise sent you???"

"Yes, Miss Elise sent me and told me why you should not move...!" the crow replied with a hard voice, like there was no emotion in it.

"Where is Elise?" Winifred asked with a serious face, looking straight at the crow.

"She is in the hall," the crow replied.

Hearing the crow, Winifred slowly lay down on the bed, feeling that her body somehow felt heavy. She took the blanket, covering her entire body, only her head visible.

"Why shouldn't I move?" she asked.

"Because your mana circuit was opened forcefully. Your body needs rest. If you move, you will feel the same pain again—the pain you felt while unlocking the mana circuit," the crow replied.

Hearing that if she moved, she would feel the same pain again, Winifred thought about that pain. Thinking about how painful the pain was, she covered her face with the blanket, turned in the opposite direction of the crow, and closed her eyes, completely hiding herself in the blanket, Suddenly, she fell asleep.

Second day...

Winifred felt something was touching her. Hearing some voice, she opened her eyes and suddenly realized the voice she was hearing was Elise's. She quickly tried to move towards the voice, but her body couldn't budge.

"Don't panic. I'm here. Remember, don't move," hearing the voice, Winifred suddenly remembered what the crow told her. She slightly looked towards the voice, moving her head. Elise was standing behind her, near the bed. Winifred suddenly started feeling dizzy, like somehow she had suddenly lost all her strength.

"I'm feeling sleepy…!" she replied and suddenly fell asleep.

"She's weaker than I thought…!" Elise muttered, sighing as she observed Winifred, who had quickly fallen asleep again despite having slept the whole day and night.

"Well, I guess it's a side effect of becoming a queen. And she never used magic, too—that makes sense. Take care of her, okay, Leon…!" Elise said, telling the crow named Leon, who was sitting on the window near the bed.

"I will," the black crow named Leon replied with a soft voice, bowing his head down towards Elise.

Third day...….

Winifred felt something was touching her head again and again. Suddenly, she remembered her last memory, where she was talking to Elise and suddenly fell asleep. She opened her eyes again, trying to see what was touching her head. Her eyes were blurry, but she looked at the person who was standing near her. Suddenly her eyes cleared, and she saw the person who was standing near her—it was Elise.

"Don't wake up, okay!" Elise said, with a smile on her face. Winifred suddenly remembered what was happening to her.

"I'm feeling sleepy again," Winifred replied with a weak voice.

"Yeah, I know! Don't worry, sleep," Elise replied, saying Winifred should sleep.

"Why…..! sleep...…" While asking, Winifred suddenly fell asleep again.

Fourth Day...….

Winifred felt something was touching her hand. She slowly opened her eyes, trying to look at her hand. She saw Elise holding her hand, and some light was coming from Elise's hand and entering Winifred's hand.

"What are you doing..." While a bit sleepy, Winifred asked with a weak voice, looking at Elise, who was holding her hand and performing a spell.

"I'm maintaining the water level in your body...," Elise replied, saying she was maintaining the water level in Winifred's body.

"What water level…..?" Winifred replied, trying to force her eyes to not close, with a weak voice. Suddenly, Winifred slept again.

"Haha… she slept again. I should have told her sooner before unlocking her mana circuit," Elise said, looking at Winifred, saying she should have told her before unlocking her mana circuit.

Winifred woke up every day for a minute and then slept again. Most of the time, Elise was still near her when she opened her eyes, but sometimes she was alone. Whenever she woke up the next day and Elise wasn't there, Winifred tried to look at the window where she always saw the black crow with red eyes sitting there, looking at her.'If only the little golem was there instead of the black crow, that would be better,' she thought, thinking that the little golem was better to watch her than the black crow, who was watching her.

Days passed quickly. All Winifred was doing was waking up for a minute and then sleeping again. If she tried to stand up, the crow would stop her, saying that Elise told her not to move.

Fifteen days passed…

The next day, Winifred opened her eyes again. Suddenly, she felt refreshed in her body, like she had taken a good nap and was now ready to wake up. Her body felt light. She tried to wake up and felt nothing like before. A smile appeared on Winifred's face. The refreshment she felt made her wake up without feeling any restraint. Suddenly, she looked towards the crow that always stopped her, but the crow was not there. Winifred thought for a bit, then got up from the bed and started walking toward the hall with a smile…
