The pressure in the safe house was much. Everyone knew what was at stake, but the weight of their decisions still hung heavy in the air. Aiden stood by the window, arms folded, staring out into the dark. Marina sat on the couch, her fingers tapping lightly against her knee.
Jayden broke the silence first. "So how do we play this?"
Bard exhaled, rubbing his forehead. "We let Maxwell believe he's already won. Amira will get close, feed him false information, and we'll use that to set the trap."
Amira scoffed. "I still don't like this plan."
Aiden's eyes shifted to her. "Neither do I. But it's the only way."
Marina leaned forward. "Maxwell is a strategist. He won't take the bait unless it's convincing enough. That means we have to make it real."
Jayden smirked. "So, we give him a show."
Amira sighed, shaking her head. "Fine. But if he so much as suspects me, I'm dead."
