The alarm blared through the underground facility, flashing red lights bathing the cold metal walls in an eerie glow. Marina's heart thundered as she stared at Maxwell, still grinning through his pain despite the bullet wound in his shoulder.
"Did I forget to mention?" Maxwell's voice was hoarse but sounded triumphant. "This place is wired to explode."
Aiden didn't waste another second. He grabbed Marina's wrist.
"Run. Now!"
Jayden and Bard were already moving, their weapons raised as they cleared a path through the narrow corridors. Amira lagged slightly behind, her breath uneven, but she pushed forward with everything she had.
