Marina's fingers trembled violently as she locked the screen. Her gut told her this wasn't just another empty threat—someone was on the lookout, probably waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Before she could dwell on it further, the door to Aiden's office was opened. She turned, expecting to see him, but instead, she found Jayden standing there staring at her.
"You're still up," he observed, stepping inside.
Marina exhaled. "I could say the same for you."
Jayden didn't sit and Marina didn't offer him a seat either. He strolled near the bookshelves and grazed the spines of old novels with his index finger. "You had another meeting with Amira."
This wasn't a question.
Marina straightened a bit. "How did you..."
"I have my ways and sources," Jayden cut in, "Why didn't you just tell us?"
