Fenrir raised a hand to stop her, his gaze fixed on the child. "Hold on, Mary Ann. Let's not be too hasty."
Mary Ann scowled but lowered her weapon slightly. "You're really going to humor this?"
Fenrir's smirk returned. "Why not? They're interesting."
The child's gaze shifted back to Fenrir, their eyes narrowing slightly. "You're not afraid."
"Should I be?" Fenrir asked, his tone light but mocking.
The child's expression darkened, and the energy around them surged again. But Fenrir remained unflinching, his own power simmering just beneath the surface.
