Despite the thickening pressure, Fenrir didn't slow down. The path to Madam Vadal's house seemed to stretch unnaturally long, as though the house itself moved farther away with every step they took. Rui's hand hovered near her weapon, and Mary Ann's fingers twitched with the urge to summon her powers.
"This is a barrier," Fenrir said suddenly, his voice cutting through the oppressive air. "She's trying to keep us out."
"And it's working," Rui muttered through clenched teeth. The pressure had become a tangible force, pushing against them like an invisible wall. Rui's legs trembled, but she refused to stop moving forward.
Mary Ann gritted her teeth, sweat forming on her brow. "You're enjoying this, aren't you, Fenrir?"
