"System, please! Help me!" Eleanor's voice cracked with desperation as she shook Prince Adrian's shoulders. His breathing was faint, and his face pale. "Wake up! Please!" She pounded on his chest lightly, tears streaming down her face. "You can't leave me here alone!"
No response.
"System!" she screamed again, but only silence answered. She clenched her fists, hopelessness gnawing at her. Her vision blurred as she started to sob.
Then she felt it—a faint movement. Adrian's eyelids fluttered before he groaned softly.
"Prince Adrian!" Eleanor gasped, shaking him gently but urgently. His eyes opened slowly, and she let out a laugh of relief, pulling him into a tight hug. "Thank the gods, you're alive!" she cried, her tears soaking his shoulder.
The prince let out a small chuckle, wincing as he shifted. "You're crying for me?" he teased, his voice hoarse. "I didn't know you cared that much."
