Eleanor left Prince Adrian's office with a spring in her step and an uncontrollable smile threatening to split her face. Greta, waiting just outside the palace gates, rushed to her side as she approached.
"Lady Eleanor! How did it go?" Greta's eyes were wide with anticipation.
Eleanor tried to suppress her excitement but failed miserably. A giddy laugh escaped her, and before she could stop herself, she squealed, "He loved it, Greta! He actually loved my gift!"
Greta clapped her hands together, her joy as sincere as Eleanor's. "That's wonderful! All your hard work paid off, my lady."
"Not just mine," Eleanor said, placing a hand on Greta's arm. "I couldn't have done it without your help. Thank you."
Greta's cheeks flushed, and she bowed her head slightly. "It's my duty, Lady Eleanor."
"No," Eleanor corrected, her tone firm yet warm. "You're more than just someone who serves me. You're my friend."
