Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Her parents death.

Sophie and Robert were unable to leave the city and had been shifting from one location to another for over a month due to her parents' hunt for her, and Robert was reported to the police for kidnapping their daughter. The police apprehended them on a train out from the city; they disguised themselves and assumed no one would recognize them, but someone did, and the police apprehended them.

The police took both of them to the station and notified her parents. Her parents arrived at the police station in tears, and the first thing they did was approach her and inquire about her well-being; she recalls her mother hugging her and asking if she had suffered for the past month. Instead of being grateful for her parents' concern, Sophie pushed her mother away and told her parents that she had not been kidnapped and had run away on her own. She also rebuked her parents for putting out those search posters and for reporting Robert for kidnapping.

When her father heard Sophie's ungrateful words, he became enraged and informed the police that they needed to ensure that Robert served time in jail because he stole their daughter. Sophie confessed her pregnancy to save Robert's life. Her parents were disappointed, and she recalls that they appeared to have aged ten years that day. Sophie's parents later hid their disappointment, telling Sophie that they would raise the child and let Robert depart if Sophie promised not to have any contact with him.

Sophie couldn't understand how her parents could accept the child that resulted from her and Robert's union and not just accept Robert himself. Sophie declined, claiming she must marry Robert and that he is the only guy she will ever love in her life.

Her parents tried to persuade her that she would meet other great men in the future and Sophie should just forget all about Robert, but she refused and said the only man she loved was Robert and she did not need any other great men. She went on to inform her parents that she made a vow to herself that all her children would have the same surname.

Because they will be born to the same man, and she has made a pledge to herself to only have one man in her life, and because she already has Robert and they have already done the deed, as well as a kid on her way to this world, she will only marry Robert in this life.

Her parents became furious with her and warned her that she could only marry Robert after their deaths. Her parents then instructed the police to charge Robert with kidnapping. Sophie informed the police that she did not know the persons who claimed to be her parents, that she denied her parents, and that she was an orphan in order to save Robert.

She recalls her parents' look of heartbreak and disappointment when they told her that because she no longer wanted to have anything to do with them, they would no longer be her parents from that day forward; they told the police to release Robert and told Sophie that she could do whatever she wanted and that in their hearts from that day forward, they would forget that Sophie was their daughter.

Sophie assumed her parents were only saying that because they were upset and that they would accept her back if she went back to ask them. She was overjoyed that day because she could finally be with Robert without anyone stopping her. Her happiness was short-lived, as she received word that her parents had died the same day.

When she arrived at the scene of the accident, she discovered that her parents' car had crashed and they had died on their way home from the police station. She was depressed that day, thinking to herself that she was an unworthy child who had slain her parents. But with Robert by her side, her melancholy lasted only a short time because Robert truly cared for her during those moments and was constantly telling her that her parents would want her to be happy from heaven and not blame herself. And indeed, she was only able to marry Robert when her parents died.

Her stomach had begun to grow, and Robert informed her that she would be unable to manage her parents' company with her large belly; she delegated all company matters to Robert and focused on giving birth; she had a very happy and fulfilled marriage for three years, and she felt as if she had everything she could ever want.

Everything took a turn for the worse when her best friend Alice informed her that she had heard a rumor. She asked Alice what the rumor was, and Alice told her that people had been talking behind her and her husband's backs, that her husband (Robert) had been relying on Sophie for support, and that despite being the CEO of the company, he had no legal power and had been slaving away at the company while she, the wife, had all the power at home.

Sophie was heartbroken when she heard it and wondered to herself, Why do people have to talk bad about her husband like that? As the loyal wife that she is, she talked to Robert about it and said that she has made the choice to transfer the shares she received from her parents over to Robert.

Robert pretended as if he was trying to talk her out of doing it, and since Sophie had already decided on transferring everything to him, she did not listen to him and told Robert that whatever she had also belonged to him, and since he is the head of the house, it is only right for her to transfer those things to him.
