Three months after moving her shares and properties to Roberts' name, she became pregnant with her second child. Sophie remembers coming home that day and was so thrilled and was planning on telling Robert about the wonderful news. When she arrived home, she cooked dinner for him and waited for him to return from work like a responsible wife.
Robert returned home that day, but not alone; he came home with her best friend Alice; she didn't think much of it when she saw them together, supposing they had met at the gate or somewhere. She recalls walking towards Robert to hug him that day and how he shoved her away. She recalls looking at Robert in perplexity and wondering what was going on with him. Her eyes widened like saucers as she saw her spouse dragging her best buddy into a hug. She then recalls her so-called best buddy gazing at her condescendingly.
She stared at them and wondered what was going on; at first, she believed she was being pranked, but things went downhill when Alice told her she was pregnant with Robert's child and would be living with them from now on. Sophie felt insane that day and told Robert and Alice that the prank was not amusing. Robert approached her that day and told her it wasn't a joke and that he would have to raise his own child. Robert informed her that he had been dating Alice for a long time before they started dating and that she was his first girlfriend.
Sophie cried and grieved that day, asking Alice and Robert why they didn't stay together as a couple lovingly and why they chose to harm her instead. She recalls Robert sounding disinterested when he told her that he dated her for her money and that getting rich through her is the ideal shortcut for him. That day felt like the end of the world to her; she couldn't believe that the man she'd loved for almost five years had just been with her for money.
Then Robert finds the courage to inform her that she will still be the legitimate wife because others cannot know that he betrayed his wife, so she will continue to accompany him to functions and so on, and they will have to act like they have the most ideal marriage in the world. Sophie glanced at Robert as if he'd gone insane and had a screw loose in his head. She became enraged and smacked Robert, telling him that if he did not get Alice out of her house, she would tell the entire world what had happened and that she would never live together with Alice.
Robert became enraged when Sophie hit him and he went inside. Sophie had no idea why he left, but she confronted Alice and began telling her to get the fuck out of her house, telling Alice that she regretted the day she met her. She was about to push Alice out of the house when she felt a sharp sting on her back. She turned back and couldn't believe Robert had hit her; he was holding a cable and gazing at her irritably.
She recalls Robert telling her that if she refuses to be submissive, he will make her obey. Then he continued beating her with the cables, and no matter how much she cried and begged Robert to stop, he would not. She began sobbing in anguish and thought she was going to die that day. She later fainted from the pain. When she finally woke up, she realized she was in her own room. She suspected that everything that had transpired was a dream, but the ache she felt all over her body told her differently.
She heard a voice outside informing Robert that she had almost miscarried and that if Robert had not promptly returned her home from those who had kidnapped her and phoned him, they would have lost the child. She later discovered that the voice belonged to their personal doctor and that Robert had lied to the doctor about her kidnapping. She overheard Robert thanking the doctor and promising to take notes from now on. Robert entered the room and slapped her hard, yelling at her for not telling him she was pregnant and attempting to make him the murderer of his own child.
Sophie glanced at Robert and wondered if he was mentally ill; as soon as he returned home, he kept dropping heartbreaking news on her and then hitting her; where would she find the time to tell him she was pregnant amidst all of this? Then Robert stormed out of her room, only to warn her that if he discovered she was saying anything she shouldn't be saying to anyone, she would suffer even more than she did yesterday.
As soon as Robert went outside, she clutched her blanket tightly and cried terribly. Then she began missing her parents and remembered how her parents had insisted on her not marrying Robert, but she remained strong-willed, and now she is suffering the consequences with no one to help her.
