The trees on both sides blurs, mirroring my vision but I blink back the tears that threaten to spill from my eyes. I cock my head over my shoulders and see two of the securities hot on my tail.
I increase my pace and dive off into the thicket of the woods, running on my bare foot. Pebbles prickles my foot and pain slices through the bed of my toes so hard that I know my feets are gashed and bloody.
But I don't stop. I run, breathing heavily and looking over my shoulder until I'm sure the men behind me are no longer in sight. And then I stop and hunch over my knees, panting and heaving as I collect my breaths.
After drawing in a few large amounts, I look around my surroundings and a gasp escapes my lips. The woods are thick with tall, green trees and elongated branches shielding the sun from penetrating into the forest.
