Lucas, who was standing in the restroom, was looking at the piece of paper he had just found in front of his foot.
He picked it up carefully, ready to it if it posed any harm, but nothing happened.
He found some words written on it and began to read them carefully. It seemed to be written by someone his age, as the handwriting was not very good.
He thought it might be a joke, so he took it lightly, but when he read the first few words, his whole body froze.
His face became motionless as his eyes fixed on the message written on the paper.
His hands started to shake as he tried to stop them, but his eyes would not obey his command, as if they were ready to pop out of their sockets.
His face was pale, drained of blood, from the terror he felt.
He looked around, trying to find the person in any booth in the restroom or anywhere, but no one was to be found.
He then decided to read the message to know what would happen next. The message read, "Hello Lucas, are you feeling any discomfort living in your new life, or should I say, in someone else's body? If you think you have occupied the body a kid after coming from another world and no one know, then you are wrong. If you want that no body no about this then come and silence me, come meet me in the back alley of the street behind the restaurant. Do not bring anyone else, or your loved ones may suffer. Come quickly, the Transmigrated Dragon Mage." This was written on a small piece of paper he had found. The writing was very small, but his talent allowed him to read it quite easily.
He became tense after hearing that someone knew about his transmigration and his unintentional takeover of an unknown body.
He rushed out of the restroom and returned to the table where his team members were waiting for him.
Finding no one suspicious around them, he breathed a sigh of relief. However, he couldn't disregard the message, as he needed to confront the person or entity who sent it. Even if they were powerful, he could use his forbidden skill to counter or eliminate them. If he captured them alive, he could question them about his purpose for being in this world.
He then told the two girls that he had to step out for a moment. Although they didn't understand what was happening, they agreed.
Ilya started to eat some of her meal, while Tess watched Lucas's disappearing figure with doubt hesitation in her eyes.
She remained silent and began eating her food.
While they were eating, Lucas went outside and walked toward the alley mentioned in the message.
He was certain that the person who summoned him there intended either to finish him off or capture him, as no one would ask to meet in such a secluded alley for a casual conversation.
He entered the dark alley and continued walking. The area was dimly lit, making it difficult to see.
As he moved forward, he heard the sound of someone approaching from ahead.
Using his skill, he conjured a fireball in front of him, the light started to show the scene before him. It was the same person he had encountered in the restroom.
He was on guard, ready to raise his shield whenever the man moved or reacted. If the man had been truly stronger than him, he should have killed him in the restroom area. Lucas presumed that the man was only a few levels higher and stronger, thinking he could kill him. Lucas used his talent to see the man's data and information.
"Who are you and what do you know about my arrival in this world? Tell me or be prepared to die here." Lucas asked, but there was no response for a few seconds. Then the man spoke.
"I AM... TENEBRIS REVENANT. THE ONE WHO IS GOING TO REAP YOUR LIFE WITH MY BLADE OF DEATH TO BRING JUSTICE TO THE POOR SOUL WHO LOST HIS BODY FROM YOU.," Evan, who was acting as Tenebris, declared. He couldn't reveal his true identity, as Lucas might get lucky and escape, he did have to tell a reason to attack him so he can show him acting like some justice freak of souls.
'He is telling the truth, but what kind of name is that? Is it real, or did he modify name in the system? No, it's impossible; the system told me that no one can do that. He is just a Level 21 warrior and thinks that being a few levels ahead of me can kill me easily. I will him who is the boss in a few seconds,' Lucas thought after seeing his status and identifying him as a warrior class.
Lucas readied his sword to finish the matter when Tenebris suddenly disappeared.
Lucas looked around but found nothing. He shouted, "Where are you, coward First, you attack and then run away." Just as he was about to drop his guard, he sensed someone approaching.
Using his talent, he saw the man walking towards him with a plain-looking big sword in hands. Lucas smirked and towards him to strike first with his skill.
He was already in front of the man, who did not react. Lucas thought the difference in their stats was so significant that the man couldn't respond and slashed his blade down towards him.
But the guy disappeared as he felt a lingering death from behind. To save himself, he fell forward to save himself from the enemy's blade as a slashed drawn on the area where he had just been.
'Huh, is that some kind of tool or to blink or teleport from one place to another? But it should not be possible ri....' He was just thinking when he heard him.
"YOU THINK AND TALK TOO MUCH, LUCAS," Tenebris, also known as Evan, said as he began to display his true power in front of him.
He started to slash his blade at him from right to left, up and down. He wasn't even stopping as he used a skill that he hadn't used a minute since acquiring it.
[Quick Swap], and suddenly his long sword changed into his old and trusted Ember Fang.
The sudden change of weapon had a significant impact on the battle, causing Lucas to lose focus as his Talent was also taking toll on him now.
His eyes were becoming heavy and red from the constant effort to defend and dodge the attacks he was facing.
He could feel that person he was fighting against was superior to him in every way, possibly about fifty levels above him, but he still didn't understand how he did it.
He was in thought as his balance broke, giving Evan the opportunity to pierce his blade through Lucas's stomach.
Lucas, feeling immense pain, bent down his knees as his blade fell beside him. His talent had stopped working from overuse. Even the racial ability of Fear, which had affected Evan, was slowing down, although his stats were low but still reaching the point of red stats.
He was sure that if he continued this way, he could kill him today if no one interrupt. As he raised sword and slashed down as Lucas used his shield, which blocked the attack, and impact and strength behind were slightly diminished.
HOH~~~, A SHIELD HUH. BUT THIS SHABBY ONE CAN'T STOP ME, LUCAS," Evan said in a different voice and raised his sword again to strike the shield, which was now filled with cracks.
He slashed down releasing the fire hidden within the blade, which briefly illuminated the alley as the shield broke.
"NOW GOODBYE, LUCAS. MAY YOUR DEATH BRING A LITTLE JOY AND RELIEF TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THIS BODY," he said, raising the sword and striking straight at Lucas, who watched in terror, unable to speak, closing his eyes and waiting for death, not using his skill for fear his loved ones might also die in the attack.
'Is there any other way than using them?' Just as he was thinking something happened which made his eyes snap open in...
