CHAPTER 10
Vextral lit a cigarette and puffed it to his lips. He was sitting in a chair while his feet were propped on crossed legs on the table.
"You know that's not good when there's a patient around." Azmael chided him. He just zipped his bag close after throwing away the surgical gloves he wore in treating the strange woman. He was responded to by a glare. "I'm going back now. And I highly suggest that you stop making blood out of her body if you don't want her to die. Another ounce of blood from her, and we needed to do blood transfer, and your fun would finally end. But I think that's better, though. So that she won't disrupt your thoughts anymore."
"Just get the hell out of here already." Vex replied with a warning look. He doesn't like it when people keep nagging him what to do. He blew another smoke in the air.
Azmael shook his head and grabbed his bag before going to the door and getting himself out.
Vex was finally left alone again with the woman. He looked at her across from where he sat. She was on her back, sleeping heavily. A blanket was sprawled on her body to protect her from the cold. He stood up and pressed the switch to change the light into dim mode.
He scanned through his phone for any transaction messages that he had to reply to. But then his thoughts came back to the woman and her background. She's Albrian. He couldn't be wrong about it. The crest in her soldier uniform was too impossible to be a coincidence. And she just appeared out of nowhere. The portal brought her to his estate because that's where her mission is.
And then her system. She had a system in her. What does her system do? It seemed like she wasn't able to use it because he hadn't seen her do something out of the ordinary. Except when she laughed like a mad woman earlier. She couldn't be a crazy lady. The Albria Realm couldn't be sending someone like that.
Maybe the glitch from the portal damaged her brain and did turn her crazy indeed. He snapped his head again in her direction. You better not have had any brain damage.
He busied himself with his phone again. A few minutes later, he received a message that he was anticipating. He stood up and glanced back at the sleeping woman before going out to the door and closing it behind him.
"Turn on the camera and monitor her closely." He uttered to the guard outside. "Let Amara do the monitoring in her cell alone. No other eyes on her." There was a glint of warning in his eyes that his men knew too well that they better obey his every command.
"Y-yes, boss." Marco ran to the other side of the building, to the surveillance room. The standing guard left was looking down on his feet.
"No one would be allowed to get inside. If Azmael visits, tell me immediately."
"Yes, boss." This guard was calmer than the other one.
He left the place then and got back to the forest. He had a traitor to take care of.
He was still a few meters away, but the cries of two women reached his ears. He threw his cigarette on his feet and buried it on the ground. He resumed walking, and he could see a family tree far ahead. There was a lamppost near the tree that the captives were tied to.
Trim was in between his wife and teenage daughter. They were untouched, yet they cried like they had been molested.
"You two better shut up. The boss is here." One of his men warned.
The two quieted down as he approached them. They stared up at him with mouths open.
"Mister! Sir! Please let us go. I'd be willing to do everything for you!" The teen daughter shrieked. Her sandy blonde hair was fixed in a ponytail, and her hoop earrings were a bit oversize for her ears. Her face was too colorful with make-up, and there were smudges of black around her eyes.
"Mister, please spare us! We'll be happy to serve you!" The mother cried. She was the same blonde as her daughter.
Serve him? He hasn't had anyone else that he wanted to serve him. Except for the woman that he left sleeping.
"Shut their mouths." He demanded to his men, and they instantly put tape on their lips.
He gestured to them to keep quiet as he kneeled on one knee to Trim again, who had his head bowed down.
The two ladies eyed him with hope and begged with their eyes. He didn't even spare them a second look.
"Please, let my f-family go." Trim mumbled shakily.
"Let them go? They were even willing to leave you to serve me. You know what that means." He shook his head. "Now. This is the last. Who made you betray me, Trim?"
"Will y-you spare them if I tell you?"
Vex inhaled slowly and stood up. "I will." He calmly said and retreated a step from the tree.
"It was Dasmian Arkus."
Why wasn't he that surprised anymore? Because he half expected it. Dasmian was his long-standing rival, but they haven't touched each other's business in a long time.
He nodded at that information and turned to his men. "Bring him to the scorching room. Do whatever you want with those two."
His men knew what he wanted them to do. Kill them also, of course. But that was up to his men. They shouldn't allow the captives out of the estate alive.
After that. He returned to the mansion to clean himself and do some remaining paper work. He ordered someone to bring fresh clothes for the woman that she could change into when she wakes up.
********************
In the middle of the night. Rizika woke up. She heard some cries. It sounded far but it still reached her ears. She winced a little when she moved to sit up. But she managed to pull herself in a sitting position. The blanket came off her upper body.
Her head was spinning a bit. She looked around. She was still in the same room. But the items in the table were gone and it was cleaned up. There was also folded clothes at the bedside table. And the light was dimmed.
She pulled the blanket to see her thigh. The wound was bandage again and she was still in her flimsy dress.
She stood up slowly and walked curiously to the other door that was inside the room. When she opened it, she was surprised to find that it was a bathroom and some things were strange for her.
'System, activate.'
[System: Hello, Rizika.]
[System: Welcome to Earth.]
[System: Body checking…]
It's a shower. The knowledge just popped in her mind. At least the system was useful in providing her information for the things on Earth.
[System: Stamina: 75%]
[System: Loading all resources…]
[System Mission: Tame the Mafia Boss]
Her eyes clenched shut when she was reminded of it again. She went back outside to fetch the clothes. She decided to take a shower to freshen herself from all the sweat, blood and grease in her body. Then she noticed in the mirror that her back had patches of white. Her back was treated too.
[System: Mission Task: Damsel in distress: 10/100%]
[System: Mission Task: Conversation with the boss: 10/100%]
[System: Mission Task: Make the boss smile: 10/100%]
[System: Mission Task Rewards: 3 Healing lotions, 2 skin tone added in make-up, and 10,000 gold coins saved in gold chest.]
'Skin tones?'
[System: Opening Glamour Inventory]
[System: Skin tone: Tanned, Fair.]
The system was showing an image of her in different skin tones.
Nah, she preferred her silky white skin.
"System, Use healing lotion."
[System: Releasing healing lotion.]
Then a small bottle appeared in front of her, floating in mid-air. She grabbed it and took off her clothes. She took a shower first. A soap and shampoo were at the corner. She reached for them and the fragrant was strange to her nose. But they smell good. She used them.
She spent a long time in the shower, putting some healing lotion to her back, as far as where she can reach them. She was struggling but she managed somehow. It had a chilling sensation when it touched her skin.
She put on the clothes after. It was another nightdress, but this time, it was thick with an off-white color. It looked like what noble girls wear in their sleep. But she was thankful that it had long sleeves and almost reached the floor. The thick fabric can somehow protect her from the cold. Her long hair was dripping wet. There were extra towels and she used it to rub her hair. The cloudy mist from the cold water made her head feel hazy.
Rizika went out of the shower then and she almost shriek when there was someone sitting in the chair in front of the table.
