Chapter 3 - history and latter

He completed all three books about creatures, devouring every word and detail about the magical beings that inhabited the world, than he picked up the fourth one, a tome bound in worn leather, and that fourth book about the History of Technology after resting for some time, he opened the book and started reading it with relish. When he started reading the book, his interest in it grew with every turned page, as he discovered the intricate history of Rock Light, a land that was once shrouded in magic, but was transformed by the advent of technology. He soon came to know about the introduction of technology on Rock Light, how it was brought by a group of alian inventors who sought to bring light and progress to the land, and how it had changed the course of the island's history forever.

Well the planet Rock Light is divided into seven countries, each with its own distinct culture, landscape, and history, and they often stay in contact with each other through diplomatic channels and trade agreements, but despite their communication, these countries do not get along with each other at all, frequently engaging in heated debates and rivalries that have been ongoing for centuries. But when that alien civilization, with their towering spaceships and advanced technology, came on this planet, all the countries got a big shock and their petty squabbles were momentarily forgotten as they realized the gravity of the situation, and all those countries came together in a rare display of unity, putting aside their differences, and they kept trying to negotiate with those aliens, employing their brightest minds and most skilled diplomats to facilitate communication.

Once they started talking, then they came to know that this alien civilization, known for their peaceful and curious nature, is not a threat to them, but rather a benevolent entity seeking to learn from and share knowledge with the inhabitants of Rock Light. After that, they finally met those aliens face to face, in a historic encounter that marked a new era of cooperation, and started talking to them, exchanging stories, ideas, and knowledge, and learning about their fascinating culture and customs. After that, they told us about many things, of which technology was one, and the possibilities it held for the future of Rock Light.

On further discussion, it was revealed that that civilization is known as Golden Sky, a name that reflects their deep connection to the cosmos and their advanced understanding of the universe. The people of Golden Sky stayed on this planet for a long time, gathering many information about our civilization, studying our languages, customs, and ways of life, and gave us many different information about technology, including advanced propulsion systems, sustainable energy sources, and innovative agricultural practices. Slowly, we started knowing more about technology, and gradually, we started increasing our technological advances, applying the knowledge shared by the Golden Sky to improve our daily lives, and transform our planet into a utopian society where technology and magic coexist in harmony.

Once the people of the golden sky left their planet, they still made a variety of equipment such as airplanes, battleships, and many others. Even today, many people on this planet are trying to make these devices even better and are constantly striving to advance technology, innovating new ideas, creating new prototypes, and pushing the boundaries of what they thought was possible, with hopes of one day reaching the same level of advancement as the Golden Sky.

He put his books aside after reading all of them, cover to cover, devouring every word and concept. After that, he closed his eyes for a while, his mind racing with thoughts and ideas. He began to think about everything he had read, analyzing the information, making connections, and pondering the implications, his brain buzzing with excitement and curiosity.

After he got out of bed, Aaron made his way downstairs. As he reached the bottom, he spotted his mother sitting at the table, a delicious meal prepared before her. Today was Aaron's birthday, but he and his mother had decided against hosting a party. Instead, he wanted to spend his last day at home, cherishing every moment with her before his big journey.

"Hello, Mom," he greeted her with a smile.

"Hello, Aaron! Happy birthday! Have you finished reading those books?" she replied warmly.

"Thanks, and yes, I finished them," he said, pleased.

They enjoyed their meal together, engaging in lively conversation. Once they had finished eating, Aaron's mother stood up from her chair, retrieved a small box from a nearby table, and pulled out a beautifully wrapped gift.

"What is this, Mom?" Aaron's curiosity was piqued.

"This is your birthday present! Also, there's one more thing that your father left for you," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Father left something for me? What is it?" Aaron asked, intrigued.

"I have no idea what's inside it," She admitted. "I tried to open it once, but it wouldn't budge. When your father gave it to me, he said only you can unlock its secrets. Just wait a moment; I'll go find it."

With that, his mother disappeared into the house, leaving him alone with a whirlwind of thoughts. What could his father have left for him? Was it connected to his disappearance, or was it something entirely different? Would it hold the key to finding his father?

"What could my father have left behind?" he mused, his mind racing. "Is it a clue about where he went? Or perhaps a message for me?"

....

After taking the box from my mother, I came back to my room while my mother didn't ask me anything about the box or how to open it. It's opened up just as I touched its lock, as if it was waiting for me all this time.

Once I looked inside, there was only a letter and a locket, I took out that letter and the locket from that box and Aaron started looking carefully at that locket. That locket was in the shape of a star with a green diamond in the center of it that looked great, sparkling with an otherworldly light. Aaron looked at his locket carefully for some time, studying every intricate detail, every curve and edge, and after that, he didn't have any more patience left in him and he opened the letter and started reading it, his eyes scanning the pages with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. The letter had the message of his father, written in familiar handwriting, yet carrying a weight of secrets and emotions that had been buried for years.

"My son, if you are reading this letter, it means that I am not with you at this time and I apologize to you for this, but I had to leave because it was very important and because of it, I could not spend any time with you at all. I know there are many things that you have a right to know, but I won't be able to tell you all that at the moment because I don't have enough time. That is why I am leaving this letter for you. If you are finding this letter, it means that you are about to start your journey, but I want that before you start your journey, you must first visit our old house once. It's the place where we shared so many memories, where you took your first steps, and where we laughed together as a family. When you go to our old house, you have to go to my room, the room that holds so many secrets and stories. There, you will find a bookshelf, an old, wooden bookshelf that has been with us for years. That bookshelf is a lock, and you currently have the key to that lock. The star-shaped locket that I gave you on your last birthday is the key to unlocking the secrets that I have kept hidden for so long. You should go to our old house first, and yes, don't tell your mother about all this because there are many things that she doesn't know, things that will change everything for her. I know it's a lot to take in, but I have faith in you, my son. You are brave, strong, and smart, and I know that you will uncover the truth and make me proud. LOVE YOU MY SON."

After reading his father's letter, Aaron found himself feeling grounded, lost in thought about the words written within it. Questions began to swirl in his mind, each one more perplexing than the last. "I've never spent any time with my father, so why does he claim we shared happy moments in the past?"

His father's instructions were clear: he should visit the old house first. But why? The mention of a locked bookshelf and a locket that served as its key only deepened his curiosity. What secrets lay hidden behind that lock? His father had forbidden him to share any of this with his mother, leaving Aaron puzzled. "What could be so significant that even she doesn't know? Are these mysteries tied to the work that's kept my father away for so many years?"

With each question that danced in his mind, Aaron felt a growing urgency for answers he desperately sought but couldn't find.

"If I want answers to my questions, I need to visit my old house. I can't tell my mother, though; if my father has kept this from her, there must be a good reason. I can't go there now, or she'll find out. Instead, I can journey there tomorrow. Perhaps I'll uncover some clue about my father that could lead me to him.

With that thought, Aaron rose from his spot and settled into bed, though sleep eluded him for some time. His mind raced with anticipation about the journey ahead and what awaited him at his old home. Eventually, exhaustion took over, and he drifted off.
