Chapter 213 - Chapter 213

Under the giant oak tree in Windrise, a gentle breeze caressed the lush green grass, making the meadow ripple like a sea of emerald waves.

Two streaks of black and white light shot straight from the direction of Mondstadt toward the oak tree. Leaning against the tree, Venti plucked the strings of his lyre, his eyes opening as the figures approached. He smiled as he saw Klee atop Yuan's back, her head bobbing energetically.

"Little Klee, what brings you here today?" Venti asked with a chuckle. "Are you planning to blow up fish at Starfell Lake again and came to pray to Barbatos so that Master Jean won't find out?"

"Big Brother Venti," Klee greeted, waving her small shovel. "I'm here to dig up treasure! I buried Mommy's treasure and my own treasures here so Barbatos could help watch over them. Now I'm going to dig them up."

Turning her head from side to side, Klee scanned the area, searching for the marker she had left. Her gaze fell upon a large flower bud on the nearby grassland.

"Ah! Found it!"

Patting Yuan and Bebe on their heads, Klee pointed to the spot. "Over there! Let's go!"

"Grrr~" Yuan and Bebe moved leisurely toward the flower bud. Klee hopped off Yuan's back and crouched down, tilting her head as she inspected the swaying flower. Raising her small shovel high, she declared, "Heave-ho!"

With a single motion, Klee expertly dug out the large flower, sending it rolling aside. Proudly lifting her head, she prepared her shovel for another strike. Suddenly, green mist spread around her, carrying the faint scent of flowers and grass.

From the spot Klee had dug, a Grass Slime emerged, wobbling like pudding. Its eyes blinked as it took in its surroundings. A cold glint flashed through the air, and the Grass Slime split in two, leaving Klee gasping in surprise.

"Ah! A Grass Slime!" she exclaimed.

The dimming world seemed to mourn as the Grass Slime shed a tear for its fallen flower companion. Klee, unfazed, picked up a semi-solid slime condensate left behind, tilting her head in confusion.

"How strange. Why is there a Grass Slime on top of Klee's treasure?"

Setting the condensate aside, Klee resumed digging. Nearby, Yuan and Bebe exchanged glances as the aroma from the condensate wafted toward them. Yuan extended a claw, delicately splitting the condensate, then licked and swallowed a piece.

Standing beside Klee, Venti observed the pandas' increasing enthusiasm as they chewed the Grass Slime's essence. He couldn't help but feel a twinge of sympathy for the slimes of Mondstadt.

The sound of the shovel cutting through air broke his thoughts. Klee uncovered a box buried beneath the soil. Smiling brightly, she lifted the wooden chest from its earthen resting place.

"Heave-ho!"

Klee placed the dusty box on the grass and pried it open. Inside lay colorful stones and shells, with a crookedly crafted Dodoco nestled in the center.

"Hehe!" Klee giggled, picking up a shiny stone and offering it to Venti. "Big Brother Venti, this is Klee's treasure. Klee will share some with you."

"Grrr~" Yuan and Bebe, still savoring the Grass Slime condensate, nudged Klee affectionately.

"Hahaha, that tickles!" Klee laughed as the two pandas nuzzled her. She pushed their heads back gently and handed each of them a stone. "Yuan and Bebe, here's some treasure for you too."

"Grrr!" Yuan and Bebe happily accepted the stones, their eyes glinting as they stored them beneath their neck crystals.

"Now that we've found the treasure, let's head back."

Klee carefully packed the items into the wooden chest and hopped onto Bebe's back. "Yuan, go tell Brother Hiroshi that Klee will be back late today," she instructed. "Also, bring Klee and Bebe's breakfast. No sneaking bites!"

Waving to Venti, Klee called out, "Goodbye, Big Brother Venti!"

"Goodbye, Little Klee," Venti replied with a smile, watching as she and the pandas flew off.

Looking at the unfilled hole left behind, Venti sighed and retrieved a shovel. "Little Klee still has a lot to learn about proper treasure hunting. Maybe I should teach her someday."

Yuan sat beside Venti, watching intently as he worked.

"Alright, alright," Venti said, patting Yuan's head. "I'll teach you too, so you can help Klee fill the holes she leaves behind."

At the entrance of the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt, Mona sighed, flipping through a notebook with disinterest.

"The owner of this notebook is such a narcissistic, melodramatic fool. This is like reading their cringy teenage diary."

"Sister Mona, Klee's back!"

Klee's cheerful voice echoed from above. A streak of black and white light descended as she appeared before Mona, holding the small chest. Jumping off Bebe, Klee ran over and handed the box to Mona.

"Sister Mona, here it is! Mommy's treasure: the '50-Year Promise.'"

"Thank you, Little Klee," Mona said, setting aside the notebook and accepting the box.

"You stingy old woman," she muttered. "Mona is coming back, and this time, I'll make you pay for everything!"

Opening the box with a creak, Mona's eyes widened as she stared at its empty contents.

"Huh?!" she exclaimed. "Klee, the box is empty! Where's the treasure?"

"Hmm?" Klee tilted her head and pulled out a small stone from her pocket. "Here, Sister Mona."

Holding the stone in her hand, Mona froze. "So, the '50-Year Promise' is... just a stone?"

"Nope!" Klee shook her head, pointing to the box. "Mommy said the treasure is the chest itself. I took out the notebook and put my own treasures inside."

"Then what happened to the original contents?" Mona demanded, clutching the stone and glancing around nervously.

Klee pointed to the notebook Mona had discarded earlier. "Sister Mona, didn't you just put it down?"

Thud!

Mona collapsed to the ground, staring at the sky. "I'm doomed..."
