As they walked into the house, the living room was unusually dark. The only light came from the
dim glow of the television, casting shadows across the room. The windows were open, and acool night breeze swept in, rustling the curtains softly. Damian frowned, his protective instincts
immediately kicking in.
"Why are the lights off?" he muttered, glancing around.
"And why are the windows open? The
maids should have—

Before he could finish, two figures jumped out from behind the couch. Lyra and Antara, both
laughing, popped into view.
"Surprise!" Antara exclaimed, grinning mischievously.
"We were watching a night movie, and we
thought it'd be funny to scare you a little.
"
Damian sighed, shaking his head.
"You two need better hobbies.

Lyra giggled as she reached for the light switch.
