Freya's POV
I was motionless as I gazed at the ghost in front of me. It felt genuine, like a living presence from which I was unable to flee, and it wasn't merely an illusion. The shadowy, dark creature looked to be pulsing with strength. As I attempted to make sense of what I was seeing, a shiver went down my spine.
"I take it you don't remember me? Like a whisper from a faraway memory, the voice seemed both familiar and strange. My heart raced at the figure's icy, eerie presence, and its eyes gleamed a faint crimson.
"Who are you? The words barely made it out of my mouth as my voice wavered. "What are you looking for from me?"
The ghost chuckled low and derisively. "You will recognize me even though you don't. Freya, your family has a lot of secrets. Sinister secrets. It's time for the truth after you've spent so much time living in the shadow of your past.
I stepped back, my thoughts whirling. "The artefact... the curse..."
