Every breath I took seemed to be choked out by the oppressive weight of the betrayal hanging over me. The person in front of me was someone I had previously trusted and who had supported me when things seemed unachievable. Now there was nothing but broken trust and a void of falsehoods between us.
"You," I said in a hushed tone that was hardly noticeable. "You've been trying to harm me... all this time?"
The individual nodded, their eyes icy and aloof. The realization gave me a dreadful twist in my gut. This person's actions had weakened all I had battled for and everything I had trusted.
