Freya's P
Sitting by myself in my tent, I gazed at my hands. They trembled a little as my energy surged inside me like an uncontrollable heartbeat. I was required by the pack, but I wasn't sure I could continue to be their leader. This strength inside me that threatens to take control is not something I want.
Lyra entered my tent as the door cracked open. At first, she kept her eyes fixed on me without saying anything.
She said, "You're pushing yourself too hard, Freya," as if she understood how I was feeling.
I answered in a tight, quiet voice, "I don't have a choice." We cannot afford to slow down as Kade's forces approach. The pack needs me to be strong.
She whispered, "If you lose control, you're not helping them." "They trust you, but if you can't control yourself, you can't lead."
I balled my fists, my inner strength igniting like electricity. I knew I had to suppress it, even though it hurt.
