Leah's POV
I turned back to look at Claudia, and instead of stepping outside the room with Cristine, we moved closer to her, standing beside the bed, closer than before. Our eyes were fixed on her, and we would look at each other as though trying to sync our minds in the same thoughts.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
Claudia was pouting her lips like she was a ten years old girl. She entwined her fingers together, dismissing the pain she must have felt during childbirth.
"Because he still has his eyes on you," she said.
The midwife in the room had her eyes on me. Claudia's statement had called her attention, and her ears must have been itching to hear what we had to say.
"What do you mean?" I acted surprised, narrowing my eyes like it was the first time I was getting a clue of that.
"He has his eyes on you," she repeated, trying to let the words sink into my head.
