"Ow! What are you doing!?" Qin Zhuzhu snapped at him and tried to pull her arm away. But unfortunately, his grip was like iron.
He stared at her, eyes burning with flames as his pupils shook.
"You did it on purpose!" The man accused her.
"What? No! I didn't know that there were some important documents. Let me go!" She struggled but it was useless.
Shentu Jing didn't know whether to release her or punish her. This girl just ruined the contract he worked so hard to acquire. How could she simply throw it off like garbage? Didn't she see the words 'Shentu' written on it?
"Let me go, pervert!" Qin Zhuzhu glared daggers at him, raising her chin.
Shentu Jing tightened his grip and she winced in pain.
"You are going to find those documents back. I don't care how you do it. Bring it back or I'll break your arm," he threatened her.
Qin Zhuzhu gulped. Gosh, this was a big problem.
"How am I supposed to find it? It's probably on its way to a dumpster. Are you telling me to dig through the dumpster?!" She dared to talk back, eyes shooting fire back at him.
"If it's there, then yes. That was a very important document yet you treat it like trash," he growled.
"If it's a very important document, then which idiot put it inside the oven? I thought it was a useless manual so I threw it away!" Qin Zhuzhu argued back. She was afraid of what he might do to her but she didn't want to act scared. Being scared means showing your weakness to your predator and she couldn't afford to do it. Her life of hardships taught her this.
Which idiot put it into the oven? Shentu Jing thought it over. How stupid can the middleman be to actually put something important into an oven? The document was a business contract that Liu Mo and him signed.
Shentu Jing had proposed working together with Liu Mo to make his investigations easier. Liu Mo had agreed and gave him permission to his vault. Who would have known that Liu Mo died and the contract went missing? Until now, Shentu Jing couldn't find the keys to his vault. There must be something in that vault to have many eyes staring at it.
The Wen, Xu, Lu, Shangguan and even the Qiao family wanted to associate themselves with Liu Mo. Liu Mo had no heirs or relatives but he was very rich. He had a successful business and some good friends who took over his business after he died. It was said that he left a will where all his money and properties will be given to someone. Up until now, no one was able to find that will.
"It must have been you who put it into the oven," Shentu Jing said, scowling.
"Or it must have been that your brain is not working properly so you put the blame on me. Mr. Pervert, you better let me go or I'll scream," Qin Zhuzhu threatened him back.
The man looked at her intently. He didn't like the way she called him a pervert.
"Then scream. Go ahead, scream," he egged her on.
Suddenly a rat ran across the counter between them, squeaking. When Shentu Jing saw the creature, his eyes widened and he immediately released Qin Zhuzhu's wrist.
He jumped back and shouted, "Rat! Rat! Get it away!"
Qin Zhuzhu noticed the look on his face and couldn't help but laugh.
"Ha ha ha! So you're afraid of rats! A big grown up man is afraid of rats! What a joke!" She taunted and giggled.
"Just get the damn thing away from me!" He commanded her even though she clearly had the upper hand.
"Okay, fine. Don't need to get so worked up," she giggled. She took out a bowl and positioned it above the rat. Where did this rat come from? She better not let the health inspector see this!
As if catching a fly, she quickly put the bowl over the rat with lightning speed, successfully caging it. Then she took a thick hardcover book and used it as the base of the cage. She caught the rat and carefully carried it over to the backdoor. Then she released it.
"All done. Need mommy to comfort you?" She laughed as she taunted him. This was the first time she'd seen a man afraid of rats! She had a good laugh and her anger dissipated.
"Shut up and don't tell anyone about today. Stop laughing," he ordered.
Qin Zhuzhu looked at her bruised wrist. He left a red mark on her wrist which would take some days to get rid of.
"As if I would listen to you. Who are you to me? You're not my boss," Qin Zhuzhu said defiantly. They were separated by the counter. The man suddenly put two hands on the counter and swung himself over. Now he was standing face to face with her.
Qin Zhuzhu gasped. That means that it'll be harder to escape from him if he dares to act like a bastard.
"What are you doing? What do you want?" She quivered as he towered over her.
"What do you think?" He approached her slowly.
Qin Zhuzhu retreated as he advanced towards her.
"Do you know how much that document was worth? That was a business contract worth millions. Now the owner of the contract is dead, everything is lost. How are you going to make up for your mistake?" He asked her dangerously.
Qin Zhuzhu found herself stuck in another predicament. Why me, god!? Why me!? She asked the heavens. She didn't have that much money. Even if she pawned herself, it would never be enough.
"What do you suggest?" She asked the man. She looked up into his dark sexy eyes.
"I can compensate you.. But you have to give me time," Qin Zhuzhu blurted out even though she wasn't sure how she was going to get the money.
Without warning, he pushed her against the counter and pressed her against his hard chest.
"Fine. Compensate me," the mysterious man demanded.
