Shentu Jing drove them to the Shentu mansion, a beautiful grand mansion that was surrounded by lush green gardens and a waterfall in the middle. This guy was definitely rich.
He had ordered the servants beforehand not to come out and greet him because he didn't want to make Zhuzhu scared or nervous. He wanted the atmosphere to be comfortable for her.
"Nice mansion," she remarked with a bored expression. She wasn't impressed at all, Shentu Jing knew that used to be a rich heiress after all. So anything to do with luxury meant nothing to her.
"From now on, you're my girlfriend. Try to act the part. You look stiff," Shentu Jing said. He led her to the living room.
"Stiff? Aren't you the one who's clearly stiff?" Qin Zhuzhu ran a finger across his chest and he quickly backed away, glaring at her with panicky eyes.
He looked so naive and innocent that she couldn't help but laugh.
"Hahaha, so Mr Jing is afraid of women. I should have known that you were pretending to be a playboy all the time!"
"Laugh all you want. Do you dare say that you are wary of men after what happened with your ex husband?" Shentu Jing suddenly reached out and grabbed her by the waist. He pulled her closer until their bodies were pressed against each other.
Qin Zhuzhu stared up into his eyes, her heartbeat increasing. She had to refrain from touching his beautiful face. He was right. She was wary against opening her heart to another man after what happened.
Shentu Jing felt his heartbeat increase. Somehow whenever he touched her, it felt like electricity had travelled through his hands and entire body. With the way she was looking up at him seductively with those foxy eyes, he wanted to pull her closer and claim her lips. This was the first time in his life he felt such a strong urge.
So he let his instincts take over. He reached out and caressed her cheeks. So soft.
Qin Zhuzhu bit her lips nervously. What was he going to do?
"Ah Jing, you're finally home. I was just about to - oh my god!"
Shentu Jing and Zhuzhu turned their heads at the same time to see a man standing at the doorway.
Qin Zhuzhu quickly broke apart from Shentu Jing at lightning speed. Shentu Jing tried to grab her back but she was too quick.
Is this the way couples are supposed to behave? Why does this feel like they were having an affair?
Qin Zhuzhu glared at him, threatening him not to do that again. Then she turned to the elderly man by the doorway and smiled sweetly.
"Uh, hello?" She said, putting on a pleasant smile.
"Ah Jing, who is this!?" Shentu Dong pointed at Qin Zhuzhu.
Shentu Dong's cries of surprise attracted the butler, servants, maids and even Shentu Chu.
"It's a girl!" Shentu Chu rubbed his eyes. He couldn't believe it.
"Ah Jing, where did you kidnap this girl from? She looks like a good girl. Tell me, did you bully her?" Shentu Dong took a ladle and pointed it at Shentu Jing.
"Dad! Wait, wait, wait, no! I didn't do anything to her. Do you always carry a ladle with you?!" Shentu Jing was alarmed. He moved backwards slowly, trying to make sure his father didn't notice that he was trying to run away.
Qin Zhuzhu looked at the father and son with a pair of doe eyes. What in the world???
"Of course to beat your ass! Such a sweet innocent girl. Look at her, she looks worried. I'm going to teach you a lesson now!" Shentu Dong charged at Shentu Jing with the ladle raised high.
Qin Zhuzhu quickly stepped in the way and used her body to protect Shentu Jing. The Shentu family were greatly shocked by her actions!
"Little Pearl, what are you doing?!" Shentu Jing tried to push her behind him but she wouldn't move.
Even Qin Zhuzhu was surprised by her actions. Why did she put herself between him and his father? It seems like her body moved out of its own accord.
"Jing gege, don't stop me!" She told him.
"Wait, what did you say?" Shentu Dong lowered his ladle.
"I said, don't stop me," Qin Zhuzhu repeated, confused.
"No, no, no. The other word," Shentu Dong seem eager to hear something.
"Brother Jing, don't -"
"Yes, that's it! You called him Brother Jing. What's your relationship with this brat?" Shentu Dong and Shentu Chu edged closer to her with excited expressions.
"He's my..." Qin Zhuzhu wanted to say boyfriend but Shentu Jing quickly cut in.
"She's my fiancé," Shentu Jing smiled.
Fiancé!!? Didn't you say I'm your girlfriend?
Qin Zhuzhu glanced murderously at him before putting on a sweet expression.
Shentu Dong's eyes widened with delight. Even the maids and servants beamed brightly. Shentu Chu approached Zhuzhu.
"Your fiance? Brother, I think she looks prettier than my fiancé!" Shentu Chu wanted to pinch Zhuzhu's cheeks but Shentu Jing slapped his hand away.
"Come and sit! Tell me your name!" Shentu Dong was excited.
Qin Zhuzhu found herself stuck in between this weird family.
"You're so pretty! Come have some tea!" Shentu Dong offered her tea and some snacks.
Even though they were weird, it gave Qin Zhuzhu a warm feeling. It was like she was being cared for by her loved ones, doted on like when she was a young girl.
Qin Zhuzhu stared at the cup of tea in her hands. A long time ago, there was a little girl who longed for her father's attention. That little girl would work and try so hard yet the father only ignored her and went off to his other wives and possibly children.
The feeling she got from Shentu Dong was like that of a father, the type of caring, understanding father she craves for. Tears spilled out of her eyes unknowingly.
When the Shentu family saw her tears, they panicked!
"Young Miss, I heard the second young master brought home a girl," one of the maids quietly slipped away and took out her phone. She dialed a number.
"What!? Who's that bitch who dared to seduce him!?"
