While Obito was doing his work, he heard the conversation between the two and couldn't help but raise his head, then froze.
He recognized Shisui.
The Uchiha clan all lives in the same district in Konoha, so everyone of the same generation knows a bit about each other. After all, they are all from the same family. Even if they haven't met in person, they've heard about each other. A prodigy like Shisui would often be talked about by elders, so it would be hard not to recognize him.
Obito was puzzled. Why was Shisui here, and why did it seem like he was very familiar with Mugetsu?
"Could it be that Sensei Yubuka is a distant relative of Shisui?" Obito thought, coming up with an unlikely theory.
"Teacher, I'm done!"
While Obito was lost in thought, Might Guy suddenly shouted energetically.
"So fast?" Obito was dumbfounded. He didn't feel like he'd taken that long. How did Guy finish so quickly?
Obito peeked over and saw that Might Guy had only completed the first three multiple-choice questions, leaving the rest blank.
Obito didn't know what to say. The test had only ten questions, four multiple-choice and six written answers.
Though Obito didn't do many of them, he still tried to fill out the whole sheet to make it look better.
Hearing Guy, Mugetsu walked over to check his answers. Guy had gotten two wrong, with only the first question right.
"I'm sorry, Sensei. I..." Guy looked at the only three questions he had done, two of which were wrong. He didn't know what to say.
"It's okay. It's normal not to know. If you already knew everything, you wouldn't need me to teach you," Mugetsu smiled and reassured him.
"Don't feel bad about low scores. You can think of it this way: there's a lot of room for improvement. After all, going from five points to twenty-five points is much easier than going from eighty to one hundred."
Upon hearing Mugetsu's words, Guy straightened up. He had always been treated like the underdog and left to his own devices, but this was the first time he had received encouragement from someone other than his father.
"You're right, Teacher. I have a lot of potential for improvement!" Guy's confidence soared.
Mugetsu's explanation was something Guy paid attention to carefully, and even though it was difficult to understand, he made an effort to grasp it.
Next was Obito, who had filled in six answers but only got two correct.
Mugetsu treated him the same as Guy—first comforting him, then explaining the answers.
Once the explanations were finished, Mugetsu handed them two more test papers of the same kind.
"We still have more to do?" Obito looked over at Shisui, who had started practicing Fire Style and couldn't tear his eyes away.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!" Shisui quickly formed the hand signs and immediately released a two-meter-high fireball that flew toward the river.
Obito was impressed. He thought to himself, "As expected of the Uchiha genius."
As an Uchiha, Obito could also perform the Great Fireball Jutsu, but his version, both in size and power, was nothing compared to Shisui's.
"Is he another genius like Kakashi?"
Though Guy didn't know Shisui, he couldn't help but be surprised by how a child, no older than six or seven, could perform such a powerful jutsu. It reminded him of Kakashi, someone he considered his rival.
The ninja school operated on a three-term system. The first term was from April to July, followed by summer vacation. The second term ran from September to December, and after the winter holidays, the third term began.
Kakashi hadn't even finished the second term when he applied for early graduation and passed. His genius level was evident.
At that moment, Shisui's presence gave Guy the same impression as Kakashi.
Then Shisui began practicing the Great Dragon Fire Jutsu.
Seeing Shisui perform another Fire Style jutsu left Guy even more stunned. The school had taught him the basic Clone Jutsu, which he had struggled with for three years. To see a student younger than him already performing powerful fire jutsus was truly remarkable.
Obito, too, admired Shisui's abilities. If only he could do that, surely Rin would take notice.
"You can clearly see that your shape transformation has improved a lot since the first time. The speed of the fire dragon has increased," Mugetsu praised Shisui after watching him.
"It's mainly thanks to your training manual, Sensei Mugetsu," Shisui smiled, pleased with the compliment. "Let me show you again."
Mugetsu walked in front of Shisui, clapped his hands, and quickly gathered and compressed his chakra. He immediately released three massive fire dragons.
The sight of the fierce, raging fire dragons stunned Obito.
Just a moment ago, he thought Shisui's Great Dragon Fire Jutsu was impressive, but after seeing Mugetsu's version, his opinion changed.
The two weren't even on the same level. The fire dragons Shisui released were like small snakes compared to the massive, fast-moving ones Mugetsu created. It almost looked as if Mugetsu hadn't used any hand signs at all.
The three giant fire dragons soared through the sky, leaving fiery trails behind them and eventually forming large characters in the air.
"Stop staring, get back to your work," Obito muttered, reading the characters in the sky, only to see Mugetsu smiling mischievously at him.
Obito jumped in shock and quickly explained, "I was just taking a break, looking at the sky."
He glanced over at Guy, who had already picked up his pen and resumed working without hesitation.
"Done with your sky-gazing?" Mugetsu asked with a grin.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm done," Obito quickly grabbed his pen and began writing.
After working for a while, Obito couldn't help but stop and ask, "Sensei Mugetsu, what's your relationship with Shisui?"
"Teacher and student, what else would it be?" Mugetsu looked at Guy's paper and answered.
"Heh, I thought so," Obito chuckled, deciding not to mention his earlier, absurd guess.
"Sensei Mugetsu, if I pass the test, will you teach me the jutsu you just used?" Obito asked eagerly.
He was already imagining himself showing off the new jutsu to Rin, preparing to celebrate.
"Of course," Mugetsu nodded.
"Really?" Obito's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Really."
"What kind of taijutsu do you know, Sensei?" Guy asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Though he admired Mugetsu's use of the Great Dragon Fire Jutsu, Guy's focus was clear: he wanted to learn taijutsu!
Mugetsu didn't say anything. Instead, he walked over to a large tree, concentrated chakra into his legs, tightened his muscles, and kicked out rapidly, performing a whirlwind kick.
With a loud crash, the tree immediately toppled, sending up a cloud of dust.
"Do you like this taijutsu?" Mugetsu smiled as he looked at Guy.
