Chapter 29 - Civilization tower

Babel can also be called Babylon.

They both mean "gate of the gods" in the ancient Babylonian language.

In the Bible, the Tower of Babel was a tower built by mankind in the hope of reaching heaven. In order to prevent mankind from doing so, God made mankind speak different languages and use different scripts, so that mankind could not communicate with each other, resulting in the emergence of many races and nations in the world.

This tower was only half built and not completed.

And in 4819 AD.

Ella spent 70 years building the complete Tower of Babi.

This tower flew towards the planet Proxima B. Its shell was like a pointed conch with spiral patterns on it, and its overall surface was like a silver mirror, with a blinding light emanating from a false window, sacred and majestic.

Almost as soon as it approached 30 astronomical units from the planet Neighbor, the Neighbor civilization had already discovered the giant object.

The entire civilization was in disarray.

The alien civilization they feared and dreaded had truly arrived.

The heads of civilization began to meet, and over the course of several days negotiated a solution.

Attack!

Do everything you can to bring that spacecraft down.

And almost simultaneously, images of the spacecraft spread rapidly within that civilization, and some creatures froze at the sight of the ship's appearance.

"Mighty hunters do not hide, but use their surroundings as their hunting grounds."

"One day, the thing that civilization fears will finally arrive, a tall tower of silver and white emitting a strong light."

"Whether they carry good or evil there is no way of knowing, but that tower hangs alone in the universe will not attack and cannot be destroyed, it opens itself up to await the entrance of man."

"At the top of its tower lies the secret treasure of civilization, obtainable by passing a number of tests; is that the gift of civilization or the poison of civilization? It is there, waiting to be plucked."

"The one who picks the secret treasure will become the emissary of the higher civilization, possessing supreme power, controlling powerful and unparalleled force, and even enabling the civilization to complete a leap, and it will become the hero of the civilization, and will be immortalized forever."

This was information that had been scattered on that civilization's information network for decades.

No one had ever cared about it.

It was only treated as information to gain emotional fulfillment like any other prophecy.

But the real thing had come to light, and the message spread among civilizations at a speed a thousand times faster than the previous decades.

Soon enough, a high-ranking person came out to dispel the rumor.

"This is nothing more than a coincidence."

"We have hundreds and tens of millions of such prophecies, and no matter what the circumstances of encountering an alien civilization, there will eventually be a similar one."

"We have mobilized the weapons of an entire civilization with the intention of destroying it."

"We cannot submit and retreat, or what awaits will be the demise of civilization."

"In the universe, there will no longer be any traces of us, we evolved through hundreds of millions of years, and gave birth to our civilization in tens of millions of years of precipitation, we shouldn't end up like this."

"At this moment, we shall be like a spear, piercing the throats of the enemy scouts, making them hesitate and fear."

The fierce declaration was still imprinted in his mind.

A few days later, a large number of warships set out.

The largest main ship was a perfect sphere, somewhat like the Golden Heart from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but larger, with a diameter of 10,000 meters, as if it were a scaled-down version of a planet.

Behind it is a massive 2km diameter thruster, powered by the kinetic energy of dark matter.

Dark matter was first proposed on Earth in 1922 AD.

It is likely that dark matter accounts for 85% of the total matter in the universe, compared to only 15% of our visible matter.

Its birth was hypothesized when the operation of celestial bodies appeared to be incompatible with Newtonian gravity, and it was only in the theoretical stage until the destruction of mankind in 2037.

But by actually entering the universe, Ella has been able to determine that dark matter does exist, that it has mass, that it does not reach the speed of light, that it interacts very weakly with light, that it participates almost exclusively in gravitational interactions, and that it does not participate in electromagnetic interactions or in strong interactions.

Dark matter is extremely stable and not easy to detect.

It is fundamentally different from the matter we can see and is inert in the universe.

Dark matter is a low-energy substance that has only a weak interaction, or weak force, and reaches such a weak level that it does not even react with quarks.

Ella speculates that dark matter only reacts with strings, which is a guess because Ella's technology has not yet reached the level where strings are discovered.

Closer to dark matter are inert neutrinos, which are a bit "stronger" than dark matter.

Although dark matter is very low-energy and interacts only with gravity in the macroscopic dimension, it is possible for dark matter itself to decay through decay.

However, dark matter itself can release a large amount of energy through decay, and because it is widespread in the universe, it is a rich resource and can be produced by fission and fusion of matter, which leads to its conditions as energy.

It is just that it is relatively difficult to utilize dark matter energy, even less easy than anti-matter energy, and only a very high degree of civilization can detect dark matter and use it as energy.

This is the case with the Neighboring Star civilization.

But they were still in the relatively early stages of dark matter utilization.

The spacecraft of the Neighboring Star B civilization was incredibly bulky.

Their civilization did not undergo long-distance voyages at the beginning of its development, and without this need, it naturally could not develop.

Nothing could be obtained by relying on theory, a civilization that had traveled in the universe would inevitably have a stronger long-distance navigation ability than a civilization that had not traveled in the universe.

The spacecraft started up and flew towards the tower.

The speed of the huge spacecraft was only 1,584km/s, which naturally crushed the electromagnetic-powered Jon before, but now Jon's fleet had long since been replaced with a more advanced power system.

After 21 days, the spacecraft reached 10 astronomical units from the tower.

This was as far as the civilization's weapons could hit.

The entire front of the spherical spacecraft began to separate like petals into six petals, which were not attached to the hull, but flew as separate hulls about 50 kilometers away from the spherical spacecraft.

Up and down, it formed a semicircle 110 kilometers in diameter.

The center-most spacecraft began to emit an intense light, and a lightning bolt at least 100 meters thick began to swim across the six components.

These thunderbolts formed a circle in space that looked like a magic formation from afar, releasing terrifying power.

When the energy reached its extreme, the captain in the spacecraft yelled, "Launch!!!"

There was no observable matter.

Just like the anti-matter shot by Jon against the Hundred Eyes Planet, when the other civilization didn't have the equipment to observe the anti-matter, the "shells" sent out by the anti-matter weapons would be invisible to that civilization.

The dark matter energy shot towards the Tower of Babel at 99.28% of the speed of light.

"Our civilization is sacrosanct, and anything that dares to enter our galaxy, regardless of civilization, will be destroyed."

The tentacles on the captain's chin waved, and the first two pairs of the three pairs of legs jumped up and slammed heavily on the floor of the spacecraft twice.

The entire spacecraft, over 3,000 spacecraft soldiers, yelled and did the same, which seemed to be some sort of invigorating gesture for the civilization similar to an Earthling clenching his fist and raising it high above his head.

The distance of 10 astronomical units would take 84 minutes to reach.

There were no screens in the spacecraft, but their bodies had been modified so that information was sent directly to their nerve centers, allowing them to produce picture-like information right inside their heads without the need for their eyes to see it.

They wait.

168 minutes later.

They see the terrifying dark matter bomb hit the Tower of Babel, and the energy from its detonation releases a large number of high-energy photons, which escape in all directions, forming a huge light mass that envelops a 1000-kilometer diameter.

This mass of light collapsed in the next moment and rapidly coalesced into a molecular-sized energy body, which exploded once more.

This lasted for 6 times before the attack was truly over.

The total sum of the energy released in its 6 times was about 2700 trillion tons equivalent.

"This is a victory that belongs to us, for the first time we have held on to our homeworld in the face of an attack by an alien civilization."

The captain shouted once again, the spacecraft was to the civilization as a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier carrying nuclear warheads for humans in the 20th~21st century.

The Dark Matter Energy Cannon, was the most powerful weapon of their civilization.

The same level of its power compared to the fission of the power level of nuclear bombs 1700 times stronger than the positive and negative matter annihilation of 2222 times although there is still a certain gap, but it is not far away, we must know that they are only in control of the lowest level of the use of dark matter technology.

This proved that the potential of high-energy dark matter energy might exceed positive and anti-matter annihilation.

The captain had turned around.

But the information it received in its mind solidified its excitement.

After the blinding light that was comparable to looking directly at a star in the universe dissipated, the tower was still standing, and it was unharmed, as if the explosion didn't exist.

"How is this possible?"
