Chapter 30 - Unable to prevent entry into the tower, a conspiracy crossing civilizations

A 10% reduction would have reduced it even more.

By the time the 5th day arrived, the output of the civilization of the planet Beyond had been reduced to 74.58% of its original level.

The Tower of Babel still shone, like a glow in the starry sky, small but long-lived.

The civilization of the planet Beyond had begun to go numb.

They dumped 20% of the energy of the entire civilization, and still couldn't shake the tower.

Even the top of the civilization felt a sense of suffocation.

That was just a tower sent by the other side, if the enemy fleet arrived, could they destroy one of them even with all their means?

Chaos!

The surface became more and more chaotic the longer the tower existed.

"It's over, we'll anger a powerful hunter."

"Just as the prey charges towards the hunter, then the hunter must raise the weapon in his own hand and swing it down towards the prey."

"What are those executives doing?"

"Do they want to push our civilization into the abyss?"

"Destruction, perhaps just the next moment."

"Escape ..."

"Escape the galaxy!"

Hundreds of spacecraft flew towards outer space every day, the entire civilization's force was now aimed at that tower, they had a chance to escape.

Twenty-seven of the 241 spacecraft that flew up on the first day broke through the atmosphere and escaped, the rest were intercepted.

More creatures saw life.

The second day the number of spacecraft that took off reached 375 and 31 escaped.

The third day saw 842 spacecraft take off and 57 escape.

On the fourth day the number broke a new high of 1,354 ships, already showing signs of being unable to be intercepted, and a total of 482 escaped.

It wasn't until the fifth day that the scene of thousands of spacecraft flying towards space made the civilization's top brass furious beyond measure, those were cowards who had abandoned the civilization.

But there was nothing they could do about it.

The biological instinct was to survive before anything else.

Civilizations, countries, and other organizations themselves were shelters for creatures, and the most basic thing they provided was stability.

If stability ceased to exist, then both civilizations and countries would fall apart.

"If we keep blasting, more will escape."

"What can we do then?"

"A bunch of bastards that have no idea how we're racking our brains to keep our civilization, they only know one thing, and that's escape."

"Whew~ The only two things we can do now is to continue attacking and stop attacking, gentlemen, choose one."

All the top brass coincidentally read out the scene in the starry sky at this moment in their brains.

That tall tower.

So magnificent, so terrifying, so impenetrable, so insurmountable.

"Stop!"

"How about another tenth of a revolution?" (Proxima b rotates around Proxima in about 11 Earth days)

"That would consume more of our energy, and you should know how many years' worth of stock we've consumed in the last few days."

"Stop now, we're barely able to stabilize the economic stability of our civilization."

Energy is wealth.

30% of energy was equivalent to consuming 30% of a civilization's wealth.

The only way to stabilize the economy of a civilization at this point in time was through inflation, but they only had to do a little bit of calculations to know that it was too much too much, and generally speaking a 5% fluctuation in energy for an entire civilization was enough to cause a major economic upheaval for the entire civilization.

And right now it's 20%.

They avoid even thinking about it.

But why can't they stop?

Because even if the economy crumbles outright, it can still be rebuilt one day, but if the civilization is destroyed, it can't be reborn.

They are in a dilemma.

They could only repeatedly have more ships cease fire and reduce their firepower output.

Until the end of the 5th day, only 34.57% of the original firepower was left.

Day 6 came, and looking at the still intact tower, all the top brass were physically and mentally exhausted.

"End it!"

"There's no point in wasting any more time."

"We should have to acknowledge the huge gap between the higher civilizations and us."

They had already consumed 23% of their energy.

It couldn't continue to fill that black hole endlessly.

"Perhaps we should send spacecraft to explore the surface of that tower."

After the ceasefire, they had no more options.

"No, that might be a conspiracy by the civilization, we should observe for a longer period of time."

No one knew if that high tower was a Pandora's Box.

As for that prophecy, the civilization's top echelon shouldn't listen to a prophecy, it was something that concerned the fate of a civilization, and it couldn't be done hastily.

But the day after that decision appeared, they realized something was wrong.

"Our actions have angered the Higher Civilization, and this may cost us the opportunity to align with the Higher Civilization."

"We will be excluded from the Federation of Civilizations, and as a civilization that does not belong to the Federation of Civilizations, we will be destroyed."

"The light weapons will reach our star system across thousands of light years, just as the neighboring one did over 2000 years ago, struck without warning by high-energy rays, huge planets torn apart, and entire star systems plunged into stellar proton storms for millions of years."

"The only way we have a chance to seek forgiveness is to enter the Tower and get a pass to civilization."

"These guys ..."

The civilization's top brass nearly had a cerebral thrombosis when they saw this information.

The most crucial thing was that there were really creatures that would believe it.

Although their civilization had reached level 1.8 and their cultural penetration should be very high, this was clearly no longer something that could be understood by mere culture.

Because, that tower was rootless and indestructible.

This was what all the creatures of the entire civilization saw, and using what they saw as a theoretical fulcrum, it was easy to arrive at the latter result.

Precisely because it was easy to don't arrive at, it would be believed by most of the creatures.

"The source of the prophecy has been found!"

Images appeared in the heads of all civilization executives.

It was a dilapidated and dirty garbage disposal robot whose head had burst, and a part that was different from the entire civilization was searched inside it - a circuit board.

Only this circuit board was scorched black at this point.

"Conspiracy!"

"A complete and utter conspiracy!"

"Deliver this message."

Instantly, all the creatures received this message within their brains.

But it was already too late.

The tower proved by force that it came from a higher civilization, how could a higher civilization pull such petty tricks? This was nothing more than the words of the higher-ups.

Even if the higher civilization brushed off such small tricks so what?

They were just spreading information to avoid unnecessary conflicts.

A large portion of the spacecraft that had originally left the planet flew in the direction of the tower, and more spacecraft flew out from the planet's surface and joined that group as well.

A huge haze hung over the heads of all the civilization executives.

Since the other civilization had used such a small trick, it meant that the height of the other civilization was not as far out of reach as they had originally thought.

The information conveyed might be true, yet there was a greater probability that it was false.

They had discovered the truth, yet they were no longer able to stop it.

Tens of thousands of spacecraft hitched a ride on hundreds of thousands of creatures heading toward the tower.

They could order the fleet to intercept, but it would not help.

The universe was vast, and with tens of thousands of spacecraft spread out, the only thing the fleet could use was force to stop it.

If those spacecraft carrying civilians were destroyed, they could hardly imagine what the civilians still inside the planet at this point would do.

After all, it wasn't the decision of a small portion, but the majority.

When the top of the civilization did not meet the certainty of the majority of civilized beings, then they were no longer the top.

If they prevented access to the tower, they would inevitably implode, and the unknown civilization would have an opportunity to take advantage of it.

If they let it go, then they would be playing right into the unknown civilization's hands.

Another message came through.

"We have entered the tower, and the first ones to enter are not those civilians, but our soldiers."

This message further decimated the civilization's top brass.

Soldiers possessed greater combat abilities than civilians, but it didn't mean that the soldiers would make deeper interpretations of the messages than the civilians.

The most important things in these messages were a few points.

1, saving civilization.

Every individual civilization wants to be the savior, they feel the threat as much as the higher ups do, but there are few decisions they can make, and entering the tower is one of them.

2, Control the power.

The civilization behind the tower is immensely powerful, and all individuals want to control the power given to them by the higher civilizations, which will allow them to achieve class advancement.

3, Friendly civilization, no weapons.

Getting inside the high tower doesn't kill you, and there's nothing to lose by trying.

This is a civilization-spanning conspiracy that uses the illusion of peace to stimulate the civilization's desire to survive and the creatures' greed.

There is no creature that is not greedy, because the creature itself is constantly asking for energy from the world and the universe, which is the root of greed, unless the creature does not need any material and can live forever, the creature is bound to be greedy.

After thinking about this level, all the civilization executives seemed to see a high hanging gate knife, under which their civilization was placed.

They sensed that the only thing they could do was to pray that the other civilization was as predicted.
