As chaos swept the world and unimaginable powers and creatures emerged, humanity began to realize that they were on the cusp of a new era. An era in which mana was both a source of power and danger. Amidst these radical transformations, Saylar watched the events with concern and anticipation, aware of his responsibility for the awakening of this new world.
Across the globe, governments received encrypted messages with detailed information about mana and how to handle it, leaving them in a state of shock and bewilderment. The source of these messages remained unknown, but the information they contained was invaluable. The messages meticulously explained how to control mana, how to use it to enhance physical and mental abilities, and how to create and utilize spells for various purposes. They also elucidated the concept of elemental transformation and its applications in self-enhancement.
Initially, governments attempted to monopolize this information and exploit it for their own gain, a natural response in a world where political interests and personal ambitions often dictate the decisions of leaders. Each leader saw this information as a deadly weapon that could be used to dominate the world and impose their will. However, these illusions were quickly shattered when governments discovered, through espionage networks and complex intelligence operations, that all countries around the world had received the same information. Faced with this new reality, they realized that cooperation was the only way to confront the shared challenges facing humanity.
Governments decided to hold an emergency international conference to discuss this information and the new threats facing the world. In a spacious hall surrounded by tight security measures, world leaders gathered for the first time in history with a common goal: to understand and deal with mana. During this conference, after long discussions and debates, it was agreed to establish the "World Scientific Union," which would include the top 10,000 scientists from around the world in various disciplines. The mission of this union was to study mana, develop ways to deal with it, and teach it to others.
After governments verified the authenticity of the information in the records, the World Scientific Union began its work diligently. In advanced laboratories equipped with the latest technologies, scientists immersed themselves in studying mana, analyzing its properties and effects. After a month of diligent research, they released the first globally shared version of the "Mana Educational Guidelines."
Based on these guidelines, the Mandatory Mana Control Education Act was enacted, requiring all young people aged 16 to 35 to join specialized academies to train them in the use of mana. To deal with the increasing numbers of superpowered individuals, "Guilds" were established. These guilds served as organizations that gathered individuals with similar abilities, trained them to use their powers effectively, and organized their efforts to confront various threats. Thus emerged the concept of "Hunters," individuals who dedicated their lives to hunting down and eliminating mutated creatures that threatened people's safety. To regulate the work of these hunters, a "Hunting License" was issued, prohibiting anyone from using their abilities without obtaining it.
In a third international conference, after lengthy discussions and heated debates, the formation of continental alliances within the United Nations was announced to enhance international cooperation and coordinate efforts in facing the new threats. This decision was not easy, as countries differed in their views on how to divide the world and form these alliances. But in the end, faced with the danger of mana and mutated creatures, countries realized the necessity of cooperation and solidarity to preserve humanity.
Thus, five new continental alliances were born:
* The European Union: This union included all the countries of the European continent, in addition to Turkey. Despite the cultural and linguistic diversity among these countries, they united under a common banner to face the new challenges. A European Council, composed of representatives from all member states, was elected to manage the affairs of the union and coordinate efforts among them.
* The Arab Union: This union included all the Arab countries in Asia and Africa, from Morocco and Mauritania in the west to Oman and Yemen in the east. This union was considered the largest alliance in terms of area, manpower, and number of countries in the world, despite the many problems and disagreements among its members. An Arab Council, composed of representatives from all member states, was elected to manage the affairs of the union.
* The East Asian Alliance: This alliance included the countries of East Asia, specifically Japan, the Koreas, and China. Despite geographical proximity and some common factors, these countries did not seem to have much homogeneity with each other. An East Asian Council, composed of representatives from all member states, was elected to manage the affairs of the alliance.
* The South American Union: This union included all the countries of the South American continent, from Colombia and Venezuela in the north to Argentina and Chile in the south. Despite the economic and social challenges facing these countries, they united to build a better future for their peoples. A South American Council, composed of representatives from all member states, was elected to manage the affairs of the union.
* The African Union: This union included all the countries of the African continent, except for the Arab countries. Despite the cultural, linguistic, and religious diversity among these countries, they united to overcome common challenges and build a strong and prosperous continent. An African Council, composed of representatives from all member states, was elected to manage the affairs of the union.
In addition to these continental alliances, some other alliances emerged based on various factors, such as geographical proximity, shared history, or economic interests. The countries of North Asia, led by Russia, re-established the "Soviet Union," despite the difference in ideology this time. On the other hand, some countries maintained their independence, such as Switzerland, Norway, New Zealand, India, and Iran, preferring neutrality and staying away from international conflicts. As for the rest of the Asian countries, due to poor organization and numerous conflicts, each country allied itself with the countries with which it was at peace, forming a complex network of bilateral and trilateral alliances.
One of the strange events that accompanied the formation of these alliances was the decision of some Arab countries, such as Iraq, Lebanon, and Bahrain, to form an alliance separate from the Arab Union. The leaders of these countries did not disclose the reasons for this sudden decision, which raised many questions and doubts about their true motives.
Thus, the world began to adapt to the new reality and build a new global system based on cooperation and solidarity to confront the dangers of mana and its terrifying creatures.
While the academies were still under construction and the mana education guide was in its early stages, governments decided to utilize those with innate mana skills to train them as the first generation of hunters. These individuals were the nucleus of a temporary defense force until sufficient numbers graduated from the academies.
One day, while Saylar was practicing a new spell he had recently invented in an old abandoned factory, he was spotted by one of the inspectors responsible for discovering superpowered individuals. Saylar was firing a series of purple lightning bolts from his hands, trying to control their power and direction. The inspector was impressed by Saylar's abilities and realized that he possessed a natural talent for controlling mana.
Saylar sensed someone's presence behind him. He turned quickly to find a man with stern features and scrutinizing eyes staring at him. The man was wearing a formal suit and holding a small device that emitted a faint blue light.
"Who are you?" Saylar asked cautiously.
"I am Hatem Al-Shammari, an inspector in the Superpowered Individuals Unit," the man replied in a calm voice. "And it seems you are one of those people."
"I don't understand what you're talking about," Saylar said, trying to hide his nervousness.
"Don't try to deny it," Hatem said with a wry smile. "I saw you firing those purple lightning bolts. You possess undeniable power."
"I..." Saylar stammered, not knowing what to say.
"Don't worry," Hatem interrupted him. "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to help you."
Hatem explained to Saylar that the government had issued a new law requiring all young people over the age of 16 with superpowers to join specialized academies to train them to control their powers and use them for the benefit of the country. And since Saylar had shown a superior ability to control mana, he was obligated to join these academies. As for compulsory conscription to fight mutated creatures, it starts at the age of 19 and above.
"This is surprising," Saylar said to himself. "I didn't think things would move this fast."
Saylar felt a mixture of anxiety and excitement. He was apprehensive about the idea of joining an academy and revealing his abilities to others, but he was also excited about the opportunity to learn and develop his skills better.
"Okay," Saylar said calmly, trying to hide his conflicting emotions. "I'm ready to join the academy."
"Wonderful!" Hatem said with a smile. "I'm sure you'll be a valuable addition to our team."
"But before I go," Saylar said, "could you accompany me home to explain this to my mother? I think she'll be worried if she finds out about this suddenly."
"Certainly," Hatem said understandingly. "That's important. You should reassure your family before you start training."
And so, Saylar and Hatem returned to Saylar's house. As soon as they entered, Saylar's mother greeted them with surprise and concern. She knew something strange was happening; she had noticed Saylar's change in recent months and was worried about him.
"Saylar, who is this man?" his mother asked nervously.
"Mom, this is Mr. Hatem," Saylar replied in a calm voice. "And he's here to explain some important things to you."
Hatem looked at Saylar's mother with respect, then said, "Madam, I am an inspector in the Superpowered Individuals Unit. I have come to inform you that Saylar... possesses some of these abilities."
Saylar's mother was shocked by these words. She never expected her son to be one of those people with superpowers. She looked at Saylar in shock, then at Hatem inquiringly.
"Is this true, Saylar?" his mother asked in a trembling voice.
"Yes, Mom," Saylar replied calmly. "I recently discovered that I can control mana."
"Mana?" his mother asked in confusion. "What is this mana?"
Saylar simply explained to his mother the concept of mana and how it had begun to affect humans and grant them superpowers. He explained to her that he had been summoned to join a specialized academy to train him to control these abilities.
"I'm worried about you, Saylar," his mother said emotionally, holding his hand. "I know this world has become very dangerous."
"Don't worry, Mom," Saylar reassured her. "I'll be careful. And I will use my power to protect myself and protect others."
"I believe in you, Saylar," his mother said confidently. "But please be careful."
"I will, Mom," Saylar said with a smile.
Then Saylar turned to Hatem and asked, "Is training at the academy mandatory?"
"Yes," Hatem replied. "But don't worry, it's not compulsory conscription. The purpose of the academy is to teach superpowered individuals how to control their powers and use them safely and effectively. And since you are still below the age of conscription, the training will focus on learning and self-development."
"That's reassuring," Saylar said.
"And don't forget," Hatem added, "that this academy will also help you develop your abilities and reach your full potential."
"I'm excited about this opportunity," Saylar said with a smile.
Saylar felt some relief after Hatem explained the matter to his mother. He knew she was still worried, but she became more understanding of the necessity of him joining the academy.
"Thank you, Mr. Hatem," Saylar's mother said gratefully. "I appreciate your concern for reassuring me."
"You're welcome, Madam," Hatem said with a smile. "I'm sure Saylar will be fine."
And so, Saylar began his new journey at the Mana Academy. An unknown world awaited him, full of challenges and surprises. But Saylar was ready to face everything with courage and determination, for he knew he had an important mission to accomplish.
How will Saylar's life be at the academy? And what secrets will he discover there?
