Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven

Everything around her vibrates. Is she alive? She needs to focus. Voices.

"She's fine. She needs to be fine.....strong body...Macy too…" The name Macy jolts Flower out of her paralyzation and Flower sits up quickly. Too quickly. Flower's whole head spins and the girl can swear her desk is glued upside down.

"Where-where is--what-happened" Flower's voice is slurred as if she got drunk. As her eyes start to focus a kind smile greets her. I've seen that smile before.

"Oh! We were so worried about you. How are you feeling?"

"Terrible" Flower blurts out forgetting where she is and who she is talking to but the woman only giggles.

"I would expect so. It's 11:03 am right now. You got knocked out." Flower tries to remember anything that happened before she passed out but nothing comes to mind. The harder she thinks, the sicker she feels. She gives up on that and instead asks,

"Who are you?"

"Do you not remember me? I was the first person to meet you here. I gave you a gift." But Flower is still suspicious and her brain is not working at all to help her.

"The bracelet you have." The lady says pointing at her wrist.

"No, I found that gift on my doorstep and I'll never take it off." Flower says defensively, but the lady seems to only want to know one thing.

"So you don't remember me."

"No." Instead of being surprised or worried, the lady simply smiles.

"Good." And before Flower has any chance to ask about Macy, everything goes black again.

 —------------------------

She doesn't remember when she gets up or how and when she gets ready, but Flower finds herself standing at the door, bag slung over her shoulder, everything in place, and the clock lighting the time 12:30pm. There are still classes going on without her. Did anything happen before she found herself standing here. Flower thinks but her mind is blank. Nope. There was simply nothing. Flower feels like she is in a dream. She can't think. She looks around her while she walks to school. That's the mall. Says one side of her brain. Building. Very weird, noisy, bad building. Flower feels like she has the brain of a 2 year old. Why is she acting like this? But her other side simply hates all the noisy things around her. Home. Home. Home. Flower's dumb side kept repeating. Our Parents are in jail. Says the logical side still left in her. Parents. Parents. Parents. The dumb side repeats after her. Do you know your name? Flower asks herself. Right now her brain is split into two and the only way she can understand anything is if they both understand something. Name. Name. Name. No, don't repeat after me. Do. You. Know. Your. Name? Please. Name.Name.Name. Flower feels like crying. She feels like screaming. She feels like throwing something against a wall. But she does nothing and instead walks calmly to her class's meeting place. Stop She orders her feet. They don't. Stop! They don't listen. Please stop!! Flower pleads with herself. Nothing. Dead. Zombie. Child. What is she? Her body won't listen to her. Her face is kind looking with a smile on her lips. Don't smile. She might as well have been talking to a stone. In fact, she is more like the stone. She walks politely to where the girls are standing, rolling their eyes at her. Reina comes up to her for her daily tormentation. Daily? Did she already experience this? Has it happened before? No, she has only been here for a day and today is her second.

"What happened?" Reina asks her with a mocking face.

"Could little Miss Flower not handle walking?"

"Aww poor girl."

"Check her feet, maybe they hurt." Fury gathers in Flower's chest. Anger so deep it probably has found the core of the Earth already. I hate them.  Flower thinks for the first time in her life. She thinks it so loud, she wants all the girls around her to hear it. But it is only in her head. She is only in her head. Her body pays no care for her emotions and instead does something so outrageous, Flower wants to get out of her body and stop herself from doing it.

"I am so sorry. I know I don't belong here. I hope I didn't disturb you too much, "Flower says while bowing. Sally scoffs.

"At least she finally knows her place." Then they all turn around like she doesn't matter and head back to the place she was before... before what? Flower yells furiously in her head. She almost had it. She decides to focus on the things she does know. Macy. Where is Macy? Flower uses all her strength to get her head to turn, like she needs to beg with her body for just an ounce of control. When she's finally able to look around she sees that Macy is nowhere near the group but she does find a face she knows. Ray. Flower thinks. Ray, please help me. Flower turns and sees that Ray is staring strangely at her. The girl knows that Ray doesn't like her anymore because the quality she did like in her is now gone. But when she tries to think of that certain quality or how she knows this information her head tilts back down, as if knowing that Flower is doing something she isn't supposed to do. So she has no option but to keep walking. Her eyes are downcast and something lights up on Flower's wrist. The bracelet. The moon shines bright and burns hot. Why is it doing that? Light. Light. Light. Gift. Flower's child mind is back and she can feel it taking over. Nice. Nice. Gift. Bracelet. No. Flower fights to stay conscious but her brain slowly shuts down and the last thing she consciously sees that passes through her side of the brain, is Ray looking worriedly at her.
