Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

"Looking for someone" Flower jumps and twirls around with the speed of light. A young man stands towering over her. His black hair and glaring black eyes stare right at her.

"I just left to ask the apartment owner where the bathroom and sink is because I just moved here but I couldn't find him. I am pretty sure I saw him earlier but now he is not the-

"Your name's Flower, right?" the man quickly stops her.

"Yes I am sir."

"Room 903 correct?

"Yes sir" The man smiles.

"Ah yes. My favorite room. The kitchen along with the bathroom are in a separate room. The door is by the closet. Any more questions"

"No sir, thank you very much"

Flower turns around and walks away. Ugh, back up the stairs. That's even worse. This is a whole workout. The girl reaches her door and is going to open it when something on the ground catches her eye. A small gift package, which she assumes is the missing gift that was supposed to be under the bed. Flower enters the room and opens the gift. It is a simple purple bracelet with a moon in the middle. The young girl instantly likes the bracelet and its beauty. "I'll never take this off," Flower says proudly. Then the girl hurries into the closet and finds the door right by the entrance. For anyone who wants to know, no there were no rats in there surprisingly. She had hung all her clothes without another living being in sight. Something caught her eye carved on the door but she is in too much of a rush to stop and look. She hurriedly cleans the place before brushing her teeth and going to bed. She finds herself falling asleep easily, which usually doesn't happen and right before her eyes close she sees the clock next to her bed lighting the time: 9:03pm. The next morning the young girl wakes up at the sound of an alarm. Flower looks at the clock on her bed stand and clicks stop. I didn't set an alarm. So who did. She looks back at the clock. And who set it on such an odd time. The clock reads 9:03am. The girl gets up and makes her bed. She washes her face and brushes her teeth. The bathroom is plain green with nothing but the simple necessities. A toilet, bathtub, sink, soap, toilet paper, and paper towels to dry her hands. The kitchen however seems to have more. There is a sink, a microwave, a small table and most surprising of all, a mini oven. Turns out they don't mind her baking cookies. She walks back into the main bedroom to a knock on the door. She opens it and before her stands a woman. It isn't the same woman from yesterday, in fact she is the complete opposite. She is tall and glares harshly instead of smiling nicely. The lady speaks and Flower listens. The lady's voice is strict and the girl decides not to anger her or get in any trouble around her.

"Hello little girl. I hope you had a nice night" The woman's tone makes Flower think she doesn't really care. A tray of food, this time pancakes and orange juice, along with a couple of thick papers are shoved into Flower's arms.

"You will attend private lessons with a group of children. Like a school but not exactly a school" The Mrs. Meanlady sounds bored and commanding.

"You have classes during the day from 9:45am to 1:45 am. In this time you will get introduced to everything and start learning. The schedule and details are in the paper I gave to you, ok" The girl listens quietly and nods.

"Perfect, you have ten minutes to get dressed. See you"

"Wait" Flower calls behind her.

"Where do I meet for these classes"

"Go down, turn left and walk past the mall. There you will find a curve to the left that will lead you to their meeting place"

"Ok thank you Ma'am"

"Don't be late" the woman warns with a glare.

"One more thing little kid, you need to know that is where you will meet and not where you will stay. This class moves all over the place to learn. You can very easily get lost so stick with them."

"What will I do when I need to get back to my room?"

"Follow the map I gave to you" Mrs. Meanlady says simply then turns and leaves.

Flower stares for a little then remembers what she has to do and turns into the flash. She swallows down her food and looks at the clock. 9:39am. Flower runs to the kitchen. I'll wash the dishes when I come back. Flower dumps the dishes into the sink and rushes into the closet to find something suitable to where.

"Why didn't they tell me I had school to attend?" Flower says in half panic, half anger.

"And so early too. I just got here yesterday evening. It hasn't even been a whole day" Flower quickly looks around her. The only reason that everything is organized and put in place is because yesterday she cleaned everything and unpacked what little belongings she owns. She gets dressed and hurries to find a bag to put her things in. Her hand closes on a mini backpack and she takes it. 9:42am. She shoves all the papers in a group in her bag along with the highly important map which she takes the time to neatly put in the side pocket. She grabs a pen, pencil, and eraser and throws them in her bag.

"I don't know what I need and I'm not ready" Flower almost screams with frustration. She is used to doing things her way, in an orderly fashion, where she knows everything she needs. But she has no time to be angry right now. 9:44am. Flower throws the door open, barely checking if it closed behind her before speeding into a sprint. She flies down the steps tripping over her own two feet and falling painfully. But who has time for pain when Mrs. Meanlady warns you to not be late to your first day of class in a rich area where you don't belong and don't know anyone. Flower runs across the mall but everytime she looks next to her at the mall to check her progress it seems she hasn't moved at all, and decides to stop looking. That doesn't stop others from looking though. Through the wind passing into her ears she can hear girls snickering lowly and mocking her. Probably never seen someone running in a hurry before have you. Rich brats. Flower says in her head. She almost yells when the curve to go left creeps up on her. She's barely able to turn left without getting hit. Then she slams to a stop when she finds a group of girls her age gathering at the end of the hallway with two women looking older than the rest. The girls turn around due to the noise and stare at her. Flower tries to stand still but her breath is roaring in her ears. Before Flower could even explain herself a mean looking woman, but not as mean as Mrs. Meanlady, comes up to the front of the group and glares at Flower. She takes out her phone before looking back at Flower.

"You're late. It's 9:47."

"I am so sorry Ma'am I was only informed of this a-"

"Haven't you been warned not to be late?" she cuts in.

"Yes Ma'am"

"So why are you late?" The woman grits her teeth

"I didn't know I ha-"

"And what in heaven's name are you wearing" she says looking Flower up and down while the girls behind her giggle. Flower can feel her heart sinking. She can't believe this. She's being bullied by the teacher. Flower tries her hardest to not cry or even frown. You can't let them know that it hurts. Also, what did you expect from them? They are rich, you are poor and you should've known better than to dress like that. This is humiliating. Flower stares blankly at the girls trying to keep all emotion out of her face. When the girls' laughter finally dies down the other teacher comes up and puts a hand on the teacherbully's shoulder. She then turns to look at Flower sympathetically. I don't need your pity, Flower thinks. Then she looks at herself through their eyes;messy hair, hand me down clothes, and shoes from the thrift store. Flower has never really mined cheap or hand me down clothes but now they make her look cheap. Ok maybe I do need some pity, just a little.
