Chapter 31 - Chapter -31 "Souls" for dinner.

Chapter -31.

The world of Azkaban, the notorious wizarding prison that's made up of two parts. There's the actual prison where all sorts of wizards—both dark and not—are kept, and then there's the surrounding island that's become part of the prison thanks to the many Dementors that roam around.

Inside the prison, the inmates were watching the Dementors rush outside, feeling totally confused. Some of the more serious offenders had been there for years and had never seen the Dementors in such a frenzy.

One older gentleman, a bit of a shady character, looked nervously at the Dementors speeding toward the door and asked the others in his cell, "Is the Dark Lord back again?" He had lived through some pretty dark times, including Voldemort's reign and Grindelwald's war, so he had plenty of experience to draw from.

Even though he wasn't the strongest prisoner, he certainly had the most life experience. As he watched the Dementors float out like a wave, he felt a chill run down his spine. With so many Dementors leaving at once, something big must be happening—maybe someone was coming to rescue them, or perhaps the Dark Lord had called them. Plus, he hadn't seen Lester in quite a while, which made him wonder if Lester was somehow involved. "I hope that young man Lester can get through this safely," he thought.

Meanwhile, Lester was facing his first Dementor lackey, completely unaware of the old man's worries. In fact, he was having a blast! Instead of panicking, Lester felt totally at ease. It was clear that the Dementors had received a command from their leader and were ready to welcome a new master. When they saw Lester, they didn't show any signs of aggression.

"It's time to make a big impression on these Dementors," Lester thought, his eyes sparkling with ideas. He knew that while the Dementors were eager to pledge their loyalty, it wouldn't come for free. He wasn't naive enough to think he could just charm them with his presence. The truth was, the Dementors had left the Ministry of Magic because they weren't getting what they wanted there. Only the Dark Lord, who didn't value human life, could offer them the countless souls they craved.

Just like in a business deal, if you understand what the other party wants, you can steer the conversation in your favor. And Lester knew exactly what the Dementors were after: souls!

"Protego Diabolica!"

With a flourish, Lester raised his right hand in front of nearly a thousand Dementors.

Whoosh!

A loud roar of flames erupted as a blue fiery platform appeared beneath his feet.

But that was just the beginning! Lester calmly controlled the platform, lifting it higher and higher until he could look down at all the Dementors below.

At that moment, he looked like a powerful figure, surveying the world beneath him.

The Dementors on the ground were puzzled, watching Lester rise into the air.

"Woo woo woo? (Why is this human wizard flying?)"

"Woo woo! (I don't know, but that noseless wizard from back then did something similar.)"

"Woo woo woo woo! (Shh! Listen closely!)"

The last voice came from the only Dementor that could speak human language.

Seeing their leader get annoyed, the two whispering Dementors quickly quieted down, staring up at Lester in awe.

"Ahem." High above, Lester pulled out a microphone he had won in a system lottery and cleared his throat a couple of times.

Noticing it was working, he smiled and began his speech.

"My brothers from the dark world!"

"I know you've often been misunderstood because of your unique eating habits, even being labeled as dark creatures (though, let's be honest, you are dark creatures)."

At this point, the Dementors in the audience started to stir, whispering among themselves as if they were discussing something important.

Seeing this, Lester realized he had their attention, so he decided to let them chat for a bit to build up their excitement.

Little did he know, while he thought they were captivated, the Dementors were actually confused.

"Wuwuwu? (What is he talking about?)"

"Wuwu! (I have no idea!)"

"Wuwu, wuwuwu! (No, we can't understand human language!)"

"Wuwu, wuwuwuwu (Yeah, but that noseless wizard talked for a long time back then; we just need to catch the main points!)"

"Wuwuwu (That makes sense!)"

Many Dementors nodded in agreement.

On his fiery platform, Lester was getting more and more excited, throwing in all sorts of catchy phrases and quotes he could remember from movies and other random bits of knowledge.

During pauses in his speech, he would sneak glances at the audience's reactions.

When he noticed the Dementors had stopped chatting and were staring intently at him, he felt a wave of satisfaction.

"This is it! I'm a speech genius!"

After a moment of self-congratulation, completely unaware that the Dementors couldn't understand him, Lester wrapped up his speech.

"So, please believe in me, Lester Bailey! Under my leadership, you Dementors will have countless souls!!!"

At that moment, the Dementors, who had been getting a bit sleepy, perked up at the one word they recognized: "souls!"

"Wuwuwu!!! (Souls!!!)"

The once-calm Dementors erupted into excitement, all shouting joyfully.

Seeing their enthusiasm, Lester was thrilled; it seemed his speech had been a huge success!

Look at how these once-dull Dementors were now buzzing with energy after his passionate talk!

With a wave of his hand, Lester descended to the ground.

Under the eager gazes of the Dementors, he winked at Carson and the others who had been watching, asking, "So, what do you think? Pretty good, right?"

Carson: "."

Looking at the hopeful Lester, Carson nodded mechanically.

What could he say? Should he tell Lester, who had been passionately speaking for half an hour, that the Dementors couldn't understand a word he said?

Carson was genuinely worried that if Lester found out the truth, he might just set fire to the Dementors to cover up the embarrassing moment.
