Chapter 2 - New Existence

'Something was wrong. No… something IS wrong. I can't see nor feel anything. It's like I exist within an absolute void. Although, I might need to rescind that statement. I can feel something. What "it" is, I have no clue. The sensation reminded me of what spoiled milk looked like. You know, that sort of goopy look that it has. Solid but also not solid. A sort of disgusting middle ground.'

My state of being remained like that for a while. My mind slowly being driven mad by the lack of sensation around me. The only thing keeping me sane was my seemingly infinite ability to sleep and that one quote "Cogito, ergo sum" from that weird computer video game. I probably don't remember it properly, like most of my past, but I think it's along the lines of "I think, so I be".

After what felt like a while, I began to wonder what happened to me. Reasonably, that should have been the first thing that I sought to figure out. I had gotten too easily sidetracked by the novelty of the situation. What exactly did happen? It most likely has to do with that pain I felt in my head before passing out. Jeez, just remembering that sent chills down my spine.

'I hadn't been extremely interested in medicine before so I didn't have much knowledge on the subject, but I know that such pains within the head cannot be a good sign. Did I have a brain aneurysm? Maybe I was struck by a tiny, alien spacecraft in the and they had to use miniature missiles to dislodge it. Oh! Possibly it was a stray psychic using their newfound powers on me as a test drive but couldn't control their strength yet and mind melted me.'

'Ah shit. My mind wandered again. I really have to work on that. Anyhow, I can ascertain that whatever happened can't be beneficial. At least I'm not dead. WHAT IF THIS IS THE AFTERLIFE!'

My mind went on like this for another while. 'Truly though, I am getting somewhat bored. I wish something could happen.'

As the very thought had formed, something(?) seemed to happen. Almost like divine luck, the world around me began to shift. That thick viscous liquid that encapsulated my very being began to shift. Whatever was moving it, moved me along with it.

I'll spare you the gory details, but the situation was dire. I didn't know what was happening and could fight against it. As I tried fighting pointlessly against the situation, I was struck by two huge shifts in the world around me. The first of which being that the viscous liquid was now gone. In its place a materialized bitter, freezing air. The very likes of which felt as though it bit into the very bone. The second change was that from the eternal darkness that I had grown used to, burst an all-consuming light.

'It's all too much. I'm freezing to death and practically blind. I can't even open my eyes!Hopefully if this is some hospital that was treating me after that brain attack will put some shades on me. Like, seriously! Sadly, it's morally rough to complain to a bunch of doctors and nurses that just saved your life.' *mental sigh*

~~~~~~
'My situation remains mostly the same. Now instead of being warm and in the dark, I am warm and in the light. Oh yeah, some time ago a helpful nurse wrapped a blanket around me. It must have been a pretty huge nurse because they lifted me like it was nothing.'
'They are also speaking in some language I don't know. Maybe it's because the brain attack I had seriously messed up my language part of the brain or they had to take me to a special, out of country hospital. I sounds similar to some East Asian languages that I've heared before. Whatever the reason, it's pretty annoying.'
