As Hwayeong stepped out of the pavilion, passing through the corridor that wasn’t too dark thanks to the lantern hanging on the wall, a warm breeze greeted her.
“The capital is quite a bit warmer than I expected.”
Compared to Hwacheon, which was located in the northern part of the country, the capital was certainly much warmer.
It made sense, considering it only snowed once every few years here.
Just two weeks ago, the nights in Hwacheon were so cold that people would place braziers in their rooms or hot stones beneath their beds.
But here, it was fully spring.
Even the night breeze had a touch of warmness to its embrace.
As these thoughts crossed her mind, Hwayeong found herself realizing just how far she had come.
Born and raised in Hwacheon, she had never thought she’d leave, yet here she was, in a faraway place.
But it wasn’t all bad.
After all, she had wanted to visit the capital at least once in her life.
