Chapter 18 - love

After my final exam, I returned home feeling both relieved and exhausted. I collapsed on my bed, eager to relax and unwind. Just as I was about to drift into a nap, my phone buzzed with a call from my best friend, Priya.

"Hey, Ananya! How did your exam go?" Priya's cheerful voice greeted me.

"It went well, I think. I'm just glad it's over," I replied, stretching out on my bed.

"Perfect! You deserve a break. How about we celebrate? Let's go to that new restaurant in town tonight. Get ready, and I'll pick you up in an hour," Priya suggested enthusiastically.

I hesitated for a moment but then agreed. "Okay, that sounds nice. I could use a distraction."

An hour later, I was dressed in a beautiful dress, my hair styled and makeup subtly enhancing my natural beauty. I felt a bit more energized and excited about the evening. Sarah called me again. "I'm running a bit late, but you go ahead to the restaurant. I'll meet you there in a few minutes."

I said OK and headed to the restaurant. Upon arriving, I gave my name to the hostess and was led to a beautifully set table near the window. I sat down and looked around, appreciating the cozy and elegant ambiance.

As I waited for Sarah, my thoughts drifted to Devyansh. I missed our nightly conversations and wondered how he was doing. Because of the exams i didn't get the time to talk to him. Just then, a waiter approached me with a knowing smile. "Ma'am, this is for you."

He handed me a bouquet of red roses with a small note attached. Confused, I opened the note, which read: "For my jaan, who deserves all the happiness in the world. Love, Devyansh."

My heart raced as I read the note. At that moment, I felt a familiar presence behind me. Turning around, I saw Devyansh standing there, a playful smile on his face.

"Surprise, jaan," he said softly, his eyes filled with warmth.

"Devyansh! What are you doing here?" I exclaimed, my face lighting up with joy.

"I couldn't stay away any longer. I missed you too much," he said, taking a seat next to me. "And I wanted to celebrate your hard work and success."

My eyes sparkled with happiness. "You planned all this? Even the call from Sarah?"

Devyansh chuckled. "Yes, I did. I knew you wouldn't say no to her. Plus, I wanted to see the look on your face when you realized it was me."

I blushed and playfully hit his arm. "You're impossible."

"But you love me for it," he teased, taking my hand in his. "Aapko pata hai, aap kitni khoobsurat lag rahi hain?"

My cheeks turned a deeper shade of pink. "Aur aapko pata hai, hum kitne khush hain aapko dekh kar?"

Devyansh smiled, his gaze softening. "Hum chaahte hain ki aap hamesha aise hi muskurati rahen."

We spent the evening enjoying a delicious meal, filled with laughter, teasing, and heartfelt conversations. Devyansh continued to shower me with sweet compliments and playful flirtation, making me feel cherished and adored.

After dinner, Devyansh then stopped and took out a small, elegantly wrapped box. He handed it to me, and inside was a delicate bracelet with a heart-shaped charm.

"Yeh aapke liye," he said, his voice tender. "Taaki aapko hamesha yaad rahe ki hum kitna pyaar karte hain aapse."

My heart swelled with emotion as I looked up at him. "It's beautiful, Devyansh. Thank you."

He reached out and gently placed the bracelet on my wrist, his fingers brushing against my skin. Then, he gazed into my eyes with an intensity that made my heart flutter. His gaze traveled from my eyes to my lips, and I could tell he was leaning in to kiss me.

My breath caught in my throat, and just as his lips were about to meet mine, I placed my hand softly on his mouth, whispering with shyness, "Devyansh, yahaan log hain... mujhe public attention nahi chahiye."

Understanding my hesitation, Devyansh nodded and smiled, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. "Okay, jaan. I understand."

After we finished our dessert, Devyansh took my hand and led me outside. We walked to a secluded spot nearby, away from the bustling restaurant. The night was quiet, with only the sound of the breeze rustling through the trees. Under the soft glow of the streetlights, Devyansh stopped and turned to face me.

His eyes were filled with an intensity I hadn't seen before. "Jaan, humne itne din se kiss nahi kiya. Main aur intezaar nahi kar sakta," he said, his voice low and urgent.

Before I could respond, he pulled me close and kissed me passionately. It was a deep, hungry kiss, as if he was trying to make up for all the time we'd been apart. My heart raced as I melted into the kiss, feeling the depth of his love and longing.

When the kiss finally ended, I felt a rush of shyness. I buried my face in his chest, hugging him tightly, my breath coming in heavy, uneven bursts. Devyansh smiled warmly at the gesture, his arms wrapping around me securely.

He nuzzled my neck, inhaling deeply. "Mujhe aapki khushboo bahut yaad aayi thi. Itna waqt ho gaya, aur humnai aapko itni miss kiya."

I shivered slightly at the sensation of his breath against my skin, feeling both cherished and adored. His words made my heart swell with affection. As we stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, I knew that this moment was exactly what we both needed.

"I missed you too, Devyansh," I whispered, holding him close. "Thank you for making this evening so special."

He gently kissed my forehead and whispered back, "I'll always be here for you, Ananya. No matter what."

In that quiet, intimate moment, I felt a deep connection and an overwhelming sense of love, knowing that Devyansh and I were truly meant to be together.
