Chapter 49 - Chapter 49 : Max and Sarah First talk

The dim glow of the setting sun filtered through Sarah's lavishly decorated room.

The curtains swayed gently in the breeze, brushing against the ornate furniture that hinted at the regal aura she exuded.

Despite the grandeur around her, Sarah's focus remained on the two messages she had received earlier.

The first message was from Leo, her father, though the truth of their relationship ran much deeper. Leo sarah trust Subordinate , once a vampire of her Race, now posed as her mortal father.

His message was brief but carried weight.

"Be cautious. Everything is falling into place."

Sarah's lips curled into a faint smile. Leo always had a way of being cryptic yet reassuring.

The second message, however, piqued her interest even more.

It was from Josh William, one of the youngest members of the William family. Josh had invited her to visit their estate, the William House RTC, an opportunity she couldn't afford to miss.

The last time she had been there was for Josh's elder sister Tara's engagement ring ceremony, and the visit had left her curious about the family dynamics.

---

A few hours later, as the evening deepened, Sarah heard the low hum of an approaching car. Rising from her seat, she glanced through the window to see Josh stepping out of his sleek vehicle.

His confident strides carried him to the front door, where he rang the bell with an air of nonchalance.

Leo opened the door, his expression neutral but respectful.

"Young Master Josh," he greeted with a slight nod.

Josh's face lit up with a charming smile. "Uncle Leo! No need for that ?"

Though Josh thought of Leo as a loyal servant of Sarah's household, Leo played his role impeccably. He smiled back.

"I'm well, Master Josh. Please, come in."

Josh stepped inside, his gaze wandering over the elegant interior before settling on Sarah, who stood at the foot of the staircase.

"You look stunning as always, Sarah," Josh said, his voice smooth.

Sarah returned the compliment with a slight smirk, her voice carrying a playful edge.

"And you, as charming as ever. So, are you here to escort me personally, or are you just eager to show off your car?"

Josh laughed, the sound echoing through the room.

"A bit of both, maybe. Ready to go?"

---

As they drove to the estate, the conversation flowed effortlessly. Josh was as talkative as ever, sharing anecdotes about his family and the upcoming festivities.

Sarah, however, listened more than she spoke, her mind racing with plans. This visit was more than just a social call; it was an opportunity to learn and position herself closer to her goal of vengeance.

"Are you excited about tonight?" Josh asked, glancing at her briefly before returning his eyes to the road.

"Excited might be a strong word," Sarah replied with a small chuckle.

"But I'm curious to see how the Williams throw a party."

Josh grinned. "You won't be disappointed."

Arrival at the William Estate

The William House RTC stood tall and imposing, its grand architecture a testament to the family's wealth and influence.

The driveway was lined with well-kept gardens and statues, illuminated by soft, golden lights.

Josh parked the car and stepped out, hurrying around to open Sarah's door.

"Welcome to our humble abode," he said with a mock bow.

Sarah stepped out gracefully, her eyes scanning the surroundings.

Though she maintained a calm exterior, her sharp senses were on high alert.

---

Inside the estate, the atmosphere was lively.

Servants bustled about, preparing for the evening's events, while members of the William family mingled in the grand hall.

Josh led Sarah through the throng, introducing her to a few relatives and guests along the way.

Though many greeted her warmly, Sarah couldn't ignore the subtle glances and hushed whispers. Being an outsider, especially one invited by Josh, came with its share of scrutiny.

Eventually, they reached a quieter corner of the hall where Josh's siblings—Eithan , , AdiAlbert and RuhrGeorge { Friend } were gathered.

Tara and Rocky are still in there vaction and they said they will arrive in just 2 days .

"Look who I brought along," Josh announced.

Eithan, the eldest and most composed of the group, gave Sarah a polite nod.

"Welcome back, Miss Sarah."

Adi, ever the jokester, grinned.

"Didn't think we'd see you again so soon. Last vaction wasn't too boring for you, I hope?"

Sarah smirked.

"Not at all. In fact, I found it quite... illuminating."

Ruhr, the quietest of the siblings, offered a small smile but said nothing.

" Hey sarah , want to come here ? i just want to say something? " Albert said with a smirk in his face and joy.

" Ohh sweet boy , wait i will come later . " sarah said while somewhat comforting albert by holding his head softly.

---

As the evening progressed, Sarah found herself drawn into conversations with various members of the family.

It was during one such interaction that she finally came face to face with Max William, the patriarch of the family.

"Sarah," Max said, his deep voice commanding attention.

"It's a pleasure to see you here."

"The pleasure is mine, Mr. William," Sarah replied, her tone respectful but measured.

Max studied her for a moment, his piercing gaze attempting to unravel her mysteries.

"Josh speaks highly of you. I trust you're enjoying the evening?"

"Very much so," Sarah lied effortlessly.

Max nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Good. I hope this won't be your last visit to our home. Because certainly we are becoming family member ."

" ..... "

---

Throughout the evening, Sarah observed the family dynamics closely.

She noticed the subtle tensions between certain members, the fleeting glances, and the unspoken words that hung in the air.

Her sharp mind cataloged every detail, every nuance.

Each piece of information was a potential weapon in her quest for vengeance.

---

Later in the evening, Sarah stepped out onto one of the balconies to catch her breath. The cool night air was a welcome relief from the crowded hall.

She was soon joined by Josh, who leaned against the railing beside her.

"Enjoying yourself?" he asked, his tone softer than before.

Sarah glanced at him, a faint smile on her lips.

"It's been... enlightening."

Josh chuckled.

"You always have a way with words."

They stood in silence for a moment, the sound of laughter and music drifting from the hall behind them.

"Thank you for coming tonight," Josh said suddenly.

"It means a lot."

Sarah looked at him, her expression unreadable.

"I wouldn't have missed it for the world."

But as she turned her gaze back to the night sky, her mind was already racing with plans for her next move.
