(Wrine Pov)
"Ashl— President, may I speak to you?"
I nearly blurted out her name in front of others.
I am currently in the student council room.
The student council is made up entirely of girls; no boys were invited or joined because the majority of boys, including myself, are still children at heart.
They say that girls mature faster than boys, and it appears that this is true.
Ashley's friends greet me with a smile as they surround me and ask questions about my relationship with Ashley.
I could not control her friends, and Ashley's jealousy drove her to give her members a frightening aura that indicated that I was her property.
I am not anyone's property, but I am fine with her marking me like that because I do not really care.
Ashley granted my request and led me to the next room, the conference room.
"Is there something wrong?"
"It's very selfish but can I ask your help?"
There is a brief pause before she sighs.
"As expected…"
Huh? As expected of what?
She blurted this out as if she were whispering, but I have no idea what she is saying, nor am I going to think about it.
It is better that I do not know everything.
Actually, I have a defense mechanism that helps me forget anything that makes me feel depressed, embarrassed, or cringe—anything that could make me consider suicide.
Only because of this am I still alive.
"What do you want me to do?"
Ashley's voice gives off the vibe of a great leader, and I felt safe at her side.
It is a shame that a guy like me feels this way because it was supposed to be me, a guy, who makes her feel like I am some kind of great person, but this feeling gives me hope that she can help me.
I explain Rhealyn's situation.
After hearing my story, she gave me several options and told me that she could help her.
As president of the student council, it is her responsibility to protect the student, so she will undoubtedly assist her.
"Thank you very much."
"You do not need to thank me. You are my boyfriend, so I am always willing to help you."
Ugh!
My heart!
Doki Doki!
Her smile is way too bright for me.
Fortunately, there are no other people here, or they might begin praying because they believe they are in front of a goddess.
…
After school, I met Ashley again because we were going home together.
Normally, a butler would drive her home, but today she needed to buy something, so she decided to walk home with me.
I am overjoyed and believe that the title of this novel is no longer accurate.
My life can be described as a visual novel.
I can end the novel by taking either Ashley's or Rhealyn's route.
Unfortunately, I am too curious to learn more about what surprises will come into my life.
"What are you thinking?"
"Ah! sorry! I was just thinking that if I had a son, I would name him Hanz."
That is just a bluff.
I am talking to myself as if I am the protagonist in a romance novel, and thinking about it again makes me cringe, but I quickly forget about it because my defense mechanism kicks in.
*cough
Ashley coughs like something is stuck in her throat.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I accidentally swallowed my candy,"
"I see. Anyway, how is Rhealyn's situation?
"Do not worry; I have already finished it. The girls who bullied her have been suspended for a week, and I could not give them any more punishment because it would be too much."
I wanted to thank her, but she had earlier told me that I did not need to, so I decided not to thank her and instead showed her my gratitude by assisting her in purchasing her materials.
…
(3rd pov)
A few hours have passed, but it feels like just a few minutes.
The sun had already set, so he decided to take her home.
After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at a tall gate, which made him feel small.
Ashley enters after the gate has opened.
He stayed here until he could no longer see her.
"Time to go home."
He began to walk at home.
