Chapter 96 - Lockhart class

Irina was very happy with her new ability.

She had finally understood why, after seeing the group of bowtruckles in the Scandinavian mountain forests that day, the group of bowtruckles didn't hide when they saw the wizard, as recorded in the book, but instead looked curiously at her. After feeding these bowtruckles, Envee had chosen to follow her.

It turns out I have a special talent for attracting animals and plants!

Irina thought this happily and placed the mandrake she was holding into the new clay pot.

When Hermione's mandrake saw that Irina hadn't planted it herself but instead planted the mandrake that originally belonged to Hermione, it suddenly collapsed and struggled in various ways. Hermione was so scared that she quickly covered it.

Mandrake larvae: Obviously, I was the one who arrived first!

After placing the mandrake larvae into the clay pot, the larvae finally stopped struggling, causing Hermione to sigh in relief.

Poor Mandrake, because Irina didn't plant it, was so angry that it collapsed inside, crying and complaining. How unfortunate!

Hermione patted the soil in the sink and ended the day contentedly.

After Herbology class ended, Irina curiously observed the venomous tentacles behind Professor Sprout.

Having learned that she had a great affinity for plants, she no longer avoided dangerous magical plants like the venomous tentacles as she had before.

However, just as Irina was about to step forward to investigate, Hermione pulled her aside.

"Go back and take a shower. The next class is Transfiguration. Irina, you don't want to go to Professor McGonagall's class dirty!" said Hermione.

Irina was surprised and quickly followed Hermione back to the castle.

You know, the time between the two main morning classes isn't long. It's very comfortable for children to take a shower, but this time can be a bit nerve-wracking for girls.

Professor McGonagall's class wasn't difficult. Irina, who had a lot of talent in Transfiguration, completed the requirements of the class on her first attempt, earning Gryffindor five more points.

The first class in the afternoon was Defense Against the Dark Arts with Lockhart. Irina noticed that every Defense Against the Dark Arts class with Lockhart in Hermione's schedule was surrounded by admiration from the students for him.

Poor baby, when you discover your house has collapsed, you still don't know how it will collapse!

Irina looked at Hermione with pity, making Hermione feel confused.

Soon, the Defense Against the Dark Arts class began. Lockhart entered the classroom. Irina and Hermione sat in the front row, while Harry and Ron sat in the back.

In fact, Irina also wanted to sit in the back with Harry and the others, but Hermione insisted that best friends should share the blessings, so she forced Irina to sit in the front row.

At that moment, under Hermione's gaze, which almost made her faint from excitement, Lockhart entered the classroom. He smiled confidently, showing a flash of white teeth.

Lockhart's voice echoed, "I, Gilderoy Lockhart, a third-level knight of the Order of Merlin, honorary member of the League for the Defense of Dark Arts, and five-time winner of the 'Wizard Weekly' Most Charming Smile award, but I never boast about it. My smile has driven away all the female ghosts!"

After Lockhart finished speaking, he looked at the young witches and wizards in the classroom and noticed that Irina's desk in the front row was empty.

"What's your name, classmate? Where is your textbook?" Lockhart asked as he approached.

"Irina Lowell. Sorry, Professor, I forgot to bring it," Irina said helplessly.

Before Lockhart's true identity was revealed, it would be reckless to confront him directly. It could even make her the target of his little fan club.

She didn't buy Lockhart's book. She had originally planned to hide in the back, but Hermione had brought her to the front row.

Hermione also looked at her somewhat confused. Irina didn't seem like the type to forget her book!

"It's alright, Miss Lowell. Just remember to bring it next time. After all, I always forgive beautiful ladies, right?" Lockhart said, showing his white teeth as he smiled.

Returning to his original position, Lockhart announced, "Next, I will give everyone a paper and a brief test. Don't be afraid. I just want to see how you read and understand. How many…"

After receiving the test papers, Irina looked at the questions, which spanned three pages:

1. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color?

2. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition?

3. What do you think is Gilderoy Lockhart's greatest achievement to date? …

4. When is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday? What would be his ideal birthday gift?

Seeing the dense questions about Lockhart, Irina fell silent again.

Half an hour later, Lockhart started collecting the papers and began grading them immediately.

Upon collecting the papers, Lockhart immediately pulled out Irina's paper and said with a smile, "Alright, Miss Lowell, although you forgot to bring your textbook today, I believe you should take this seriously. Read my book and let me see how many points you can get."

When Irina heard Lockhart's words, she had a bad feeling. She covered her face and buried her head in her arms.

It's over! Society is doomed!

Just as Irina tried to bury herself like an ostrich, Lockhart's voice echoed through the classroom.

"Why did you say my favorite color is feminine pink?! That color should only be liked by girls, right?! Didn't you pay attention to 'A Year with XZ Snowman'? I mentioned that my favorite color is feminine lilac!"

"What?! Why did you say my secret ambition is to use my own series of water-protection spells to transplant hair into the mysterious man's bald head?"

"Last question: Did you say my ideal birthday gift is Merlin's fishnet stockings? If you really read my book, you should be able to see my ideal birthday gift in Chapter 12 of 'Wandering with Werewolves.' The gift is the harmony between all wizards and non-magics, as I clearly mentioned!"

Lockhart read through the questions one by one. By the time he reached the last question, he was almost furious.

Of the fifty-four questions, the only one Irina answered correctly was "Gilderoy Lockhart has won the 'Wizard Weekly' Most Charming Smile Award multiple times." This was the question Lockhart had just mentioned when introducing himself.

Except for this question, Irina gave some strange answers to almost all the questions. For example, she wrote that Gilderoy Lockhart once received a mysterious two-hole plug from a werewolf.
