Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: The First Exploration of a Different World

After the implementation of the faith value plan, all subjects in Luo Luo's divine realm erupted with immense power, and various projects advanced rapidly.

In the following days, teachers from the Star Academy relayed the news that the opening of the special different world was still about a year away.

Luo Luo had no choice but to wait, but before that, he planned to explore a different world assigned to them by the family. This different world had a maximum level limit of demigod level seven.

For the younger generation who had only recently embarked on the path to becoming gods, this level was initially unattainable. However, there was Luo Luo, a freak of nature; had he not stopped refining faith values after learning about the different world's level limitations, he would have already reached demigod level nine.

This exploration of the different world was led by Luo Luo and included the previously untested Cai Mengmeng, as well as his cousins. Some other cousins from the Luo family's vassal lineages would also join him on this exploration.

This different world was quite large. Although the maximum battle power was somewhat low, it did not disguise the fact that it was an unexplored realm.

It is known that while there are many treasures within different worlds, to gain the greatest rewards, one must explore the unknown. Once explored by others, what remains is fixed output rather than surprises.

The different world being explored this time was captured by Luo Zhenguo. This had been mentioned long ago, and everyone was prepared for it. Luo Xin, who had high potential, had already advanced to demigod level three, which would greatly aid in the exploration of the different world.

Moreover, as a newly established family with a solid foundation, the elite policy within the Luo family ensured a high quality of subjects. The vast majority had heroes stationed, and even life-type gods like Luo Lin had multiple heroes, a fact that Luo Luo discovered later.

Indeed, he was very surprised. After all, speaking solely of heroes, Luo Luo's divine realm had yet to feature one. He was still awaiting the analysis results of the hero tokens. Although he had previously created a mechanical body using soul stones, activating it felt unsatisfactory to Luo Luo.

After all, this was something he had to do it himself within his divine realm without being granted through formal means. Thus, among heroes, he would be the weakest. Even using high-level materials wouldn't break this limitation, so Luo Luo had to wait.

The scene shifted to the classroom, where Luo You was explaining the key points of exploring different worlds to them.

"Exploring different worlds sounds simple, but it's very difficult in practice. You all experienced the divine perspective during the small test, but that was because the family had already explored that different world. It was equivalent to lighting up all areas. However, in an unknown different world where your subjects haven't illuminated the corresponding map, your divine consciousness cannot descend, meaning you cannot observe what is happening in that area."

"So, in the exploration of unknown different worlds, you do not have the omniscient perspective of a god. This ability only exists in areas you have already explored. By 'explored area,' I mean regions completely occupied and controlled by your subjects. If your subjects are engaged in battle with enemies, you can only see the areas your subjects have advanced into, while enemy territories remain in darkness."

"What I want to emphasize as the most crucial point in exploring different worlds is caution—be cautious, and then be even more cautious. Because even if you know the highest-level enemies in the different world, you still do not know what peculiar creatures exist that can counter your subjects. That is the most dangerous aspect."

"Though if your exploring subjects are all defeated, it won't affect your fundamental existence, their total defeat will not leave you unscathed. Remember that the exploring subjects are summoned using your mental energy; they have a subtle connection to your spirit. When subjects die, that connection is severed, and if too many are severed, it will cause a burden to your spirit."

"So never allow your subjects to take overly risky actions; you must proceed steadily. In exploring different worlds, you cannot overlook any minor details. At the end, every inch of land and every type of creature must be thoroughly explored. This is the rule of exploring different worlds, and it is a principle we have always followed."

"Of course, if such situations arise in the different world given to you by the family, and you feel waves of pain in your spirit, do not panic or worry. I will be watching over you and protecting you."

"However, if you later explore unknown different worlds on your own, you will not enjoy such favourable conditions. You must have a plan for retreat, or you may face losses."

"If the natives of the different world find the location of the spatial portal based on your traces and breach your divine realm, you won't even be able to cry—if you survive, you'll only become a useless being. This is akin to the outcome of failing in a forced divine war. Luo Luo is well aware of this, and you can ask him about it after you go down."

"Having discussed the dangers, let's mention some benefits. Why are people enthusiastic about exploring unknown different worlds? Because these places often have items and races different from the Earth Source Continent. This is what we all hope to gain."

"Every exploration of an unknown different world is akin to gambling; what you find could be useful or useless, it might already exist or be something entirely new. It could be rare but previously existed, or it might be precious but found in abundance."

"All these possibilities may arise, so as you explore unknown different worlds, you must maintain a calm mindset and not have overly high expectations, thus avoiding excessive disappointment. If you're lucky enough to encounter something good, your heart will be filled with a sense of reward. This is one of the reasons people are eager to explore unknown different worlds."

Upon hearing this, Luo Luo thought about the different worlds explored by the teachers at the Star Academy, which contained scrolls for transitioning scientists and workers. For the teachers, it might indeed be a bust, but for Luo Luo, it was crucial.

Thus, it could be said that what is perceived as useless is not necessarily truly without value; it simply hasn't been placed in the right hands. With this thought in mind, Luo Luo pondered whether he could re-explore the different worlds previously deemed useless on the Earth Source Continent. This was akin to repurposing old items or finding unexpected gems. Such places were deemed useless by others, but for Luo Luo, it felt like discovering a gold mine.

He subsequently acted on this realization, earning himself the nickname "Garbage King" within the family. After all, he only needed to acquire coordinates to different worlds that others deemed useless. Such coordinates were generally unwanted, to the extent that people would give them away even at a loss. Luo Luo amassed a substantial number of different world coordinates at a minimal cost and then embarked on a painful yet joyful journey of opening blind boxes.

While Luo Luo was dreaming of a bright future, Luo You continued to discuss matters related to exploring different worlds.

"The best exploration team for unknown different worlds consists of diverse subjects that can respond to various unexpected situations. Such a combination is most beneficial for exploring unknown territories. After all, you cannot know if the places you are exploring are deserts, oceans, magma, or swamps."

"You may not know whether you are in a non-magical area devoid of magical fluctuations or a highly magical tidal region. Therefore, I advise you to pay attention to those subjects with great physical strength but little magical talent when assembling your exploration team; these subjects will bring unexpected gains when exploring some special locations."

"However, I must also tell you that although this advice has been given countless times to juniors by various academies and families, it is still not taken seriously by many. When they stand before treasures and lament their fortune, they realize the weight of these words—but by then, it is too late. Exploring unknown different worlds is a time-sensitive task; if you cannot gather all the benefits right away, these items may no longer belong to you."

"Benefits not acquired are not truly benefits. So, keep this in mind."

"Although Luo Luo is the leader of this action, he is only there to assist you when you encounter each other. He is not your babysitter and cannot protect your safety at all times, so you must not harbour a sense of false security, thinking that nothing could go wrong."

After laying out the precautions, Luo You led Luo Luo and the others aboard the magical airship, which was the primary mode of transportation on the Earth Source Continent, powered by energy stones. However, they used magical energy for charging, while Luo Luo employed electric power. Both methods utilized energy stones as their medium for energy storage.

Higher-grade magical airships were often used in foreign battlefield operations. These were the main tools for transporting troops across the Earth Source Continent, primarily used in the cosmos, while lower-tier airships, which could not operate in space, were used for long-distance transport between regions on the Earth Source Continent.

The magical airship belonging to the Luo family was intermediate, capable of briefly traveling to the cosmos. After all, not all coordinates of different world rifts are adjacent to the Earth Source Continent; in fact, most are located in space. To reach such places for exploration, advanced cosmic airships powered by spatial magic are required to navigate unknown distances to reach designated coordinates.

Item Name: Magical Airship (Intermediate)

Level: Stellar

Function: Can fly briefly in space, carrying large numbers of personnel and supplies at moderate speed.

Description: A conventional transportation tool of magical civilization.

The different world they were heading to was evidently near the Earth Source Continent. Of course, their family was concerned about sending them too far. After all, if they drifted too far from the Earth Source Continent and faced problems or attacks, the family's response time would be prolonged, providing an opportunity for malicious individuals to take advantage.

After spending about two hours on the magical airship, they arrived at their destination, where there was a distinct spatial rift. The surrounding space exhibited clear displacements, and as the magical airship began to traverse the rift, Luo Luo and the others felt their bodies tense, as if bound to the ground, unable to move. After a brief adjustment period, they grew noticeably lighter. By that time, the magical airship had already crossed the rift, revealing a green planet before them.

This planet looked quite different from the Earth Source Continent, causing the children aboard the ship to exclaim in amazement. Luo Luo, however, remained calm; this green planet seemed larger than Earth, apart from its colour.

Luo You maneuvered the magical airship to set them down at a coastal area between land and sea, where the land was filled with towering trees.

"We've arrived; this is the starting point for your exploration of the different world."

"This rift will exist for three months with a gap of a year between openings. This means that you must return to the airship within three months. Otherwise, you will have to stay here for another twelve months until the rift reopens a year later."

"Understood," everyone responded seriously, as this related to their personal interests. They had to listen carefully; if they could not return, staying in such a place for a year would mean that unless their gains were astonishing, they would be far behind their peers.

As the team leader, Luo Luo couldn't do much other than hand them a blank map, stating, "What you have in your hands is the map of this planet. Of course, it's still blank for now. The bottom right corner indicates our airship's location, right at the beginning of this forest. I'll refer to this forest as the Miracle Forest. From here on out, you must mark your progress on the map wherever you go. If you encounter any special locations, record them in detail."

"This way, if you lose your way on this planet, you can find your way back. I've taught you the method before: every kilometer is about half a millimeter on the map. Recording directions, distances, and reference points clearly will aid your exploration. If you encounter an urgent situation and do not have time to record relevant details, you must remember the direction you came from and preferably note down some landmarks to help you."

"Divine consciousness is prohibited in different worlds, as you all know. The Luo family has not previously explored this different world, so Luo You does not possess the divine perspective on this planet and cannot see everyone's situation."

"If you encounter a life-threatening danger, immediately instruct your subjects to unleash destructive magic. This will attract nearby comrades to come to your rescue. However, this should only be a last resort; this planet is indeed very large, and we observed that before landing. Using such a method should only be done when you truly have no other options, or you might attract enemies instead of allies."

Luo Luo had also selected his teammates: his cousin Luo Xin, cousin Luo Lin, cousin Luo Cai, and the previously mentioned Cai Mengmeng.

Others began forming their own teams and advancing in various directions.

Luo Luo summoned one hundred LV2 armed robots, ten Eagle Men, ten Elves, and twenty Gnolls.

This was Luo Luo's subject team.

Luo Xin had summoned two hundred Evil Goblins, which was expected by Luo Luo.

Race Name: Evil Goblin

Luo Cai summoned twenty Elven Dragons, which was somewhat unexpected. Although Elven Dragons belong to the Dragon race, they are a division of the Elf race, generally associated with Elves and not traditional dragon-type creatures. It seems Luo Cai has not let down her guard.

Race Name: Elven Dragon

Life Shield: Provides allies with a nature-type shield lasting 20 minutes. (Cooldown: 6 hours)

Description: A favoured child of nature and a born magician.

The most surprising summon was Luo Lin, the goddess of life and restoration. Her subjects were Small Sprites. Although similar to Elves, they are vastly different; Small Sprites are magical beings birthed from various plants, and their presence enhances the plants' resistance to diseases and increases yield, even allowing for the cultivation of magical plants.

Due to these unique properties, Small Sprites make excellent support characters, and any aspiring support deity will go to great lengths to cultivate this race. However, Small Sprites are notoriously difficult to raise; they require a perfect environment, such as a vast rose garden, to nurture a single Rose Sprite, making it quite a rare occurrence.

This unique birthing method results in extremely low populations of Small Sprites, giving them a high value on the Earth Source Continent. Notably, Small Sprites cannot reproduce; each one is unique in the world. Fortunately, Small Sprites have long lifespans, and despite their weak combat abilities, their survivability is significantly greater. Even if they unexpectedly die, they can be resurrected near their master, as long as they have not exhausted their lifespan. Each resurrection costs varying amounts of lifespan, and when their lifespan nears its end, they will leave their master and quietly wait for death in a hidden corner, a rare case where gods cannot grant them additional life through faith.

Although Luo Lin sent out a single ordinary Wood Sprite, its presence greatly enhanced Luo Luo's entire team, as all the trees in this forest became their eyes and ears. There was a difference in the speed of information relay; trees farther away communicated slower than those nearby.

Race Name: Small Sprite (Wood Sprite)

Level: LV2

Constitution: 5

Strength: 5

Agility: 5

Spirit: 20

Talent:

Born of Nature:Extremely difficult to give birth to, but each possesses significant abilities.

Fate Item: Each Small Sprite has a fate item that can be easily used or activated, as long as it involves related attributes.

Magical Creature: Long lifespan and possesses immortality, but each death consumes a portion of their lifespan.

Luck: All types of Small Sprites possess a luck attribute.

Skills: Nature's Whisper: Can listen to the voices of trees.

Description: To acquire a Small Sprite, it seems you have the luck attribute.

Cai Mengmeng saw that everyone had summoned their subjects and quietly sent out twenty Shadow Clan warriors. Five of them merged into the shadows of the team members. Luo Luo observed these five shadows closely; they differed from other Shadow Clan members and resembled assassins, their presence feeling more substantial. They were likely professional warriors within the Shadow Clan.

Race Name: Shadow Clan Warrior

Class: Shadow Guardian

Level: LV2

Constitution: 15

Strength: 10

Agility: 10

Spirit: 4

Shadow: Shadow Clan members can freely hide in the shadows of objects. The first attack made while in shadows guarantees a double critical hit.

Dual Affinity: The Shadow Clan has affinities for both death and darkness types. Damage is increased by 50% when using death or darkness skills.

Skills: Guardian: When the master is struck by a fatal blow, the Shadow Guardian will absorb all damage, allowing excess damage to overflow. Upon death, the Guardian will grant the master a shield with both Dark and Death type enhancements.

Description: A guardian cultivated from the Assassin Clan; such beings are rare in the world.
