Asha's lineage traced back to the formidable god Hades, who ruled the underworld and its immeasurable riches with an iron fist. With Hades' departure, Asha's destiny rested in the hands of a succubus, a creature of sensuality and intrigue, entrusted with the task of nurturing the young godling until his coming of age. At the tender age of twelve, Asha would face the uncertain yet momentous future that awaited him.
And so, the day of Asha's twelfth birthday came, marking a crucial turning point in his life. The succubus, as per Hades' instruction, vanished from Asha's life, leaving behind a legacy of both guidance and enigma. In her place, Asha was granted immense wealth, along with the exceptional power to command the subterranean riches of the earth. Yet, while the Asha from the novel failed to recognize these gifts until it was too late, the Asha of reality was determined to seize his opportunity.
Asha, now at the age of 15, remained unknown to the world despite being the only truly immortal among gods and demigods.
The gods, mighty and eternal in their existence, did not possess souls, the very essence that gave mortals their immortality. This, however, was a double-edged sword, for without souls, they could be slain by overwhelming power, their deaths a descent into the void of non-existence, with no afterlife to offer solace. The first generation of gods, born of divine and human union, carried with them a gift that the original gods lacked: the presence of souls, which allowed them to transcend death and reside in the underworld upon their demise.
The gods, once invincible and arrogant in their power, looked upon the first generation of gods with envy. For while they held dominion over the mortals, their offspring, blessed with souls, had the privilege of an eternal existence in the underworld.
As the gods grappled with the rise of the first generation, a greater threat loomed on the horizon, one that could challenge their very existence. Amongst their ranks, the infernal lord Hades held a power unlike any other, for a child of his would not only wield dominance over the underworld, but also possess the power to defy death itself. Such a being would be beyond even the gods' grasp, a living contradiction of their divine order. Yet, the gods took comfort in a belief, a shield against the dark possibilities that lay ahead: Hades, Lord of Death, could never sire a child.
But the gods' sense of security was no match for the tempestuous currents of fate. In a realm shrouded in secrecy, the birth of Asha, Hades' son, defied the impossible. The very existence of the young godling threatened to overturn the foundations of the divine world. Wise to the peril his child's existence posed, Hades wove a cloak of obscurity around Asha, keeping him hidden from the prying eyes of the gods for twelve long years.
